Any word on when the Alltel 6.1 update is coming?

Any Alltel insiders out there that are willing to share some dirt? I like cooking roms and using some of the great custom roms but I would rather have a nice, solid factory rom.

well the initial rumor was that is would be out by now

but now i guess alltel is saying the 4th quarter of 2008. very vague.

I will ask my buddy if he knows anything. (corporate rep)

They could stand to have one, but I found a stable build of 20273 that I like.

he doesnt know anything. he says he does more blackberry stuff then with windows mobile. and when he does WM it is like the Q and smartphones. not ppc.

But another rep in here says the official alltel wm 6.1 rom will be out this week.

Alltel needs more attention than it gets. Sometimes I feel like we are the last to get anything. Thinking about going to Sprint when contract is up.

Alltel did have their 6.1 rom out for a couple of months but was messing roaming on the phone so they pulled it. I still have a copy of it but I won't use it because of that.
I upgraded a friends phone with it and his phone got all jacked.. flashing roaming sign roaming all the time.. not a stable rom.. I hope the next one fixes all those issues.

Actually it was a 6.0 ROM not a 6.1 hypeo IIRC.
