That's correct. Although I never had the roaming problems that have been listed I found that rom just wasn't quite fast enough after running DCD's 6.1.

The Alltel 6.1 ROM has been beta for a while. I have a copy (dated 7/10/200

and a few people I know are running it. Sadly, GPS was NOT enabled and one of my friends was unable to patch it using the method Shadow-Tech provided previously. Because of that I am sticking with my 20273 build and have not flashed my phone. However, it does use EVDO Rev. A which was fast and a big boost to people tethering their phones to laptops.

Ouch, come on Alltel. Sprint's had GPS for how long now? Sounds like Verizon is starting to wear off on them already.

Quick run down. 25MB free on clean install. Alltel Navigation, Bluetooth Explorer, "Games and More" link in Programs links to alltel.magmic.com. Running 6.1 Build 19208.1.0.1. Google Maps isn't locking onto any sats but it might just be where I am in the building.

GPS does indeed work out of the box. It took forever to sync with the sats but it did work with Google Maps without any registry changes.
