Sounds similar to the "A Key" issue I had on my first flash. I had to call Verizon and tell them my phone locked up and that I called their customer service and they recommended that I do I hard reboot. I also mentioned that all my contacts were gone and sounded all paniced. They helped out and re-authenticated my phone....just don't tell them you unlocked your phone....play dumb and they should help you out. And call from a landline (even though you may not be able to call 611 from the phone, I didn't try to when I had to reauthenticate mine). thought I would try this rom out and have flashed several roms using Ruu with no problems. Decided to use flash via sd this time. Formatted 512mb carb to fa32 and place file on sd, put sd in phone, entered boot. A screen came up gray that says loading.... The problem is that it has been at this stage for approx. 20 min. Not sure what to do at this point so that I have no problems. Thank in advance.


Did a soft reset while on this screen and phone booted up . Removed sd and now flashing via Ruu.

I think I may have figured out part of the issue with the VZ Navigator on this ROM. VZ Nav requires ROM: 3.57.605.1. This ROM is built off of version 3.08.666.1.

Is there a way to get the same functionality/appearance, but build it off of ROM: 3.57.605.1?

I was thinking somewhere along the lines of re-flashing ROM: 3.57.605.1 and then adding each CAB file individually. But can I do that now that the phone is unlocked?

This did in fact work to get VZ Navigator (Which I have the CAB file for directly from Networks In Motion if someone wants me to send it to them to put on the FTP) working again...still have to pay Verizon $9.99 a month, but as I said, I like VZ Nav. Here is the link to get the MR-1 update: http://www.pcdphones.com/ I flashed this ROM while leaving my Titan unlocked. Since then, I have been trying to locate the individual CAB files to try to get the functionality that I liked so much about GaMedic's Verizon ROM. I am still looking for a couple CAB's: The RegEditor (the one w/ the muppets, can't remember the name, but I liked it), I want to do a black calculator to match the Carlos Black Diamond Dialer, and if one exists, a matching keyboard CAB, and also a Today clock like what is in GaMedics CAB (But I would like to use the various formats out of the S2U2 Clocks folder)....Any thoughts of where I can find these CABs?? I've looked, but to no avail.

I know there is probably an easier way to do this, but I want to keep the VZ Nav working, and at the moment, this method is getting me where I want to go for this trip around the moon with the Titan.

Looking for something to be able to use Bluegrass Cellular Service -- Any ideas? We have a local guy at Rat Shack that is willing to work with people on phone from other carriers -- I really don't know if any difference for programming the phone.

Also- How do I back up my current service to but my phone info back on CDME myself?

I use dashwire.com and I like it. There are other PIMs around that you can use for local backup on your PC.

Okay, so switching back to the MR1 update got me my VZ Nav back. I was able to throw in alot of CABs to get me close to what I wanted. Except I have "Insufficient Permisions" to modify my Comm Manger and use the RegEdit....I think I will be looking at a couple of different options now, Reverting once more to GAMed's ROM again is apparently going to be one of them. Now I am off to visit the GPS thread and see if I can learn to like a different Nav program....

I am back on GaMedics ROM (My back up for my screw ups since I have mastered the SD method now!). Those RegEdits are great! The only one I would refrain from using is the Today Item Lock/Unlock option....unless you want your Today Screen with nothing but a back ground. I am having issue with option 6 on that list at the link (Speeding up the xv6800), because I cannot get PBH RegEdit to run, all other mods I did with the dotFred RegEditor with ease. Just thought I'd pass the info along as I am finding it out. This is a very 'friendly' ROM, once I get everything the way I want it, I will post a screen shot if it differs drastically from GaMedics', but it will all be with his ROM.

MR1/MR2 fix for aGPS with VZ Navigator (Verizon)


FYI, I came up with a way to get VZ Nav and still have an unlocked phone.

My issue now, is that while attempting to emulate some of the visual and functional aspects of the GaMedic ROM here, I am having issue loccating the dotFred RegEditor and the keyboard layout.

Thought I would mention that there is a way to be unlocked and run VZ Navigator, and that the MR2 Update came out about 6 AM this morning...I just happened to be up toying with Dorthy (my phone some how ended up with a nick name during all of this). Again, Thanks Ga. You do have a great ROM here, I just wanted to have the Nav with it.

i found a problem with the opera browser i guess?? some downloads i do try to set up off there. well when ever i put the sd card in then open up the download and try to run setup. it opens opera and does nothing. so then i cant download what i want. i dont know whats wrong?? also anything i try to browse on W.V.D always says no results, and i dont know how to make youtube work.

Many people have asked me to provide the ROM that I use everyday. I will post the ROM here for users to try. I am not trying to take credit for anyone else's work by posting this ROM. Let it be known that this ROM was made with the PPC Kitchen using base 20931. I am not taking credit for some incredible ROM that I built from scratch. I want to thank GGuruusa for his help and input over the past couple of years. Also thank you to anyone who had a part in making the Kitchen and/or improving it for the use of the users here. You are welcome to download this ROM for personal use. I will post it on the FTP so the download may be a little slow. I will also post my selections text so that if you want you can save it to the kitchen and add or take away anything you want. If you want to see what is included in the ROM just open one of the selections text and take a look. It will let you know everything that is included. I did not post a selections text for every carrier but the are all identical except for MMS programs.

When you initially install this ROM you will notice a lot of today plug ins on the today screen. Just go to settings>Today>Items and choose which items you wish to have show up on the Today Screen. Uncheck the ones you will not use. Be aware that the more items you have on the Today Screen the less memory you will have. I personally use Today clock and Today Agenda which is included in the ROM. I also use Weatherpanel. It has to be downloaded from here if you wish to use it. You can use whatever you wish on your today screen.

The theme is just the standard theme that loads when you build a ROM from the kitchen without selecting a theme. You can change the theme by going to Start>Settings>today and selecting a them. I use a Diamond theme provided to me by JustPCTech. If you want to use that theme just click the link, download the file to your desktop. Copy the file to a storage card, place the card in your device. Use file explorer to copy the file from your card and past it into the /Windows folder on your device (make sure it is place in the root - /windows). You can also use Active sync to place the file in the windows folder on your device.

If any of you want to post bugs that you find I will attempt to answer your questions but I do not plan to do a lot of changes. I am posting this ROM simply because I have been asked numerous times to build ROMs and/or provide a selections text for my personal ROM.

I use WK Task for my Task Manager. It puts a battery bar over the top bar by default. It can be easily removed by changing the options in WK Task. Just hold your stylus down for a second in the top right corner of the screen and select Preferences. You will find a menu with a lot of preferences you can change.

I did not include HTC Home in this ROM.

To install the ROM on your device:

Your device must be unlocked and have a GPS enabled radio. For more instruction on how to unlock see this thread.
Download and unzip the file for the carrier you use. You should have a file named TITAIMG.nbh. You can place that file on a storage card and flash it using the SD method. I have posted the instructions for SD Flashing Method at the bottom of this post. If you do not have a SD card you can rename the file to RUU_signed.nbh and drop it in a RUU and flash it using a cable attached to your USB. There is a link to a RUU posted below. Just copy and paste the file into the RUU folder and connect your device via USB and flash. I also posted the RUU flashing instructions below. Both sets of instructions are copied from my tutorial.
Don't forget to HARD RESET
