Has anybody been experimenting with GPSMode? I've been switching between 2 and 4 this past week and what I'm seeing is really fast fixes with mode 4 but not as accurate.

Mode 4 locks almost instantly but puts me on the wrong side of the road sometimes or 25 yards from a cross-street when I'm sitting at the intersection. And usually 100ft +/- sea level.

Mode 2 always puts right on the spot and at proper altitude but takes 30sec or so to get a fix.

i prefer accuracy over initial lock speed

When you run the QPST from your desktop and it shows COM 6 as the "surf" that is refering to your com on the PC not on your PPC. COM 6 on the PC has no relation to COM 4 or COM 2 on your device.

I've updated the Verizon GPS wiki over at xda. Everything you need to know about Verizon GPS/aGPS on any rom (including MR1) can be found there. Enjoy.

I've read everything here and tried this a couple of times. To no avail yet. I have flashed a custom ROM and have the latest radio. Could the custom ROM possibly be missing something to not function?

Are there any tools to monitor the GPS functionality? At least I could see if it's trying to do something.

I have the verizon service and

I have also been trying this on a couple of phones (both with n2c roms and 3.42.50 radio) and I still can't get a lock. One thing I did notice on the first one I did was the fact that the ip settings didn't seem to stick. After I read from phone and then wrote to phone I plugged the phone back in and read from phone again but the ip settings for gpsone are still blank. I think I might be doing something wrong though. I will have to try again tomorow.

Re: Instant Verizon Gps Locks!!!!!!!

Hoorah... I finally got this to work. Maybe it was a good thing I was half asleep and was doing this last night (this morning). I fell half asleep during the last update to the new ROM and it ran the Sprint custimizations on my Verizon phone. LOL :drunken:

I went back and forth with the issue of trying to get the connection to work again on the 6.1 base for the ROM install, because it seemed that the option for the connection was not there (it happened to be the sprint ROM registry settings) . Therefore, I could no longer do the connect function for attaching my computer to the internet through the cell phone link.

I re-installed my original ROM and looked at the registry settings under COMM/.../Internet Sharing (or something like that), then installed the newer one again. (Must have installed and re-installed about 6 times last night back and forth. Then saw that the settings in the original were nearly nothing, so I just deleted the two keys on the Internet Sharing and looked again and the pulldown was there and I could connect to the internet.

Low and behold, letting the Sprint customizations install all the way must have done something to the drivers for GPS and out of accident I then had the GPS functional even after applying the Verizon CAB.

I got my lock and it was dead on this morning when I got home.

Now I'll have to see if this functions for my GPS on my laptop when connected as well.

Great work everyone on the settings for these to allow them to work.
