Need some help upgrading to the GPS ROM

Right now im running an outdated custom rom, forgot what its called, but I wanted to upgrade to the new rom to be able to use the GPS. I remember previously reading somewhere that first I had to relock the phone and revert to an old official rom THEN upgrade to the official GPS rom. Can somebody just give me some instructions and programs to download in order to achieve this. Also whats a good data back up tool. I want to back up my contacts and text messages mostly.

Re: Need some help upgrading to the GPS ROM

I already have PIM Backup on my phone but I dont think it saves your text messages. I was already looking at that thread but I didnt see anything about re-locking your phone. As I said im already running a custom rom and my phone is unlocked, but im trying to restore to its factory default first basically and THEN upgrade to a GPS rom. I found a thread that dealt with relocking but it was for the verizon version and I got the Sprint one.

Here is the link for the Titan Relocker. As far as backing text messages up I wouldn't know since I don't care about mine enough to save them. I have used the Resco Backup, but don't remember if it backed up text messages.

That just sounds like extra work to me bro. Why are you going to flash back to a OEM ROM just to erase anything it may do when you flash back to a custom GPS enabled ROM? Sounds like one flash too many to me. No settings or software will be carried over to the next custom ROM you use so I dont see the point in wanting to flash with a OEM ROM first.

And PIMBackup does backup msgs. I have Palm Threaded App on my 68 with 6.1 and use it all the time.

And (again), Im not understanding why you want the relocker if you are going to keep your device and flash with a custom ROM in the end anyway.

Since you are already unlocked (Olipro 2.4+) then just back everything up and update the Radio to 3.42.50 and then go cook your ROM in BuildOS.
