Official Verizon Update Broke Gps For All Roms~! Help!!!!

So as the title states the offical ROM for verizon broke my gps for all the roms i have tried. Now this gets me wondering if the Official rom simply has some QPST tweaks to make it only work with VZ nav. But its quite annoying that i figured i would try the rom only to figure out that the GPS lockdown is NOT rom based. I was wondering if anyone knew how to fix this. Thanks!

Have you tried reflashing your radio to 3.42.40 or 3.42.50 after doing this? I don't know if it will help, but it sure can't hurt

Holly S**T thought i was just me! I converted to VZW release ROM then after miserable GPS I went back to DCD 3.2.5. Now I gets NOTHING. Yes, it does Change QPST settings. I confirmed this by looking. Yes, it does modify the gpsOne section. It changed transport method. Dont know what else it changed. Im about to go all the way back to Stock ROM then follow upgrade path. I bet that will work.

BTW, I have tried every radio on the net and none of them do anything at htis point. Once again, my hats off to VZW for phucking over there customers.

Great... I am going to hold off until someone can hack this or fix it so that we can us VZ rom with better gps rom or there will be a work around...

the trick to getting gps on the official verizon rom requires total commander and a set of gps drivers from the sprint or telus roms you will need to delete or replace the gps drivers in the windows folder with the ones that you got from sprint rom and delete a file called OEMGPSONE.dll then soft reset also don't let the verizon customizations run

Fyi, I loaded the new ROM from UTStar with no GPS like everyone else. I tried going back to the original ROM and then upgraded to custom ROM and newest radio which I was running before - and the GPS was working great. No dice. Still no GPS whatsoever. Blastit.

Help. Please.

If you let Verizon Customizations run.... you now have PRI 2.03_002. This is the problem. I don't know if copying the drivers onto the phone will help... but if that's the case.... Please... somebody post the results.

YES the official update does break GPS functionality.... To recover, you will need to flash the STOCK verizon ROM.... And you will need to let the customizations run....


EDIT - It turns out that I do INDEED have the new PRI 2.03_002 still on my phone AND GPS works just fine..... Doesn't lock and faster, but doesn't lock any slower either.... WEIRD...... Here's a link at XDA with a picture of my EPST showing the info.....
