Need Serious Help after flashing Mogul to Alltel
 

I got a brand new Mogul and upgraded the boot rom to 2.47 and installed a stock Alltel Rom 3.35.671.9 and Radio 3.37.20. I called Alltel and switched services to this phone with out problem BUT I can't program it.. I try dialing *228 Nothing, ##000000 and Nothing. What am I doing wrong here? Please help as now I have no phone! Thanks..

Fixed it... Had to call Alltel so they could walk me through the configuration..

Damn it! I can't get internet access. I was on the phone with Alltel tech support and tried everything.. I need to get the Alltel PRL & PRI is what I'm guessing.. Any suggestions?

I was able to find a prl update but the pri update keeps says backup efs failed.. then it just reboots.

try going phone menu options services internet start and wait for it to finis the icon will leave the titlebar and soft reset wala

Yeah I'm always on through my Vogue. Since you fixed the PRL problem can you dial 228 now? Maybe you need to just reprogram the phone? Sorry if not much help, but just never heard of anything like this before

No I tried.. It just says that it can't program though the automated service & that I have to take it to Alltel.

I'm looking through the epst and in M.IP Default Profile my Home Address is 0.0.0.0 Should it have an ip address?

Run the stock alltel flash and make sure you let customizations run. After this is done run \windows\PPST.exe to program your PRI. This should also install an alltel PRL but I am not sure if that will be the case, if not you can download a PRL from www.corolada.com/prl and then run \windows\EPST.exe to get into the configuration settings (go to the prl page to flash the PRL). You need your MSL to get into the configuration settings (although it might be 000000), you can find a tool on these forums to get it if it is not all 0s.

i got the new PRL (30031) and it was flashed with the stock alltel rom.. i have the 2.47 bootloader and radio 3.42.50

did you follow my instructions including running PPST.exe? I hope that the customizations were also run on the stock alltel rom? You might want to initiate an IOTA to set up the data service as well.

this can be done through start->settings->phone->services tab->internet (in the scroll list)->get settings->start (the big button in the center).

edit: just saw that you don't have that option - my guess is that you did not let customizations run. did you soft reset when it did the "customizing device in 3 seconds" thing or did you actually let it run? if not hard reset and let the customizations run.

also was this originally a sprint mogul? I assume it was since the alltel version of the device is not called a mogul....

i dont get that "internet" option in my menu.. I did let customs run and I manually updated the prl... When i try to run the PPST, it says that it can't backup, then it reboots..

try a hard reset - it sounds like it needs to do an IOTA and I don't know another way to do one besides through that internet option.... it should however try to do one the first time it tries to connect to data after a hard reset....

I did let the customizations run when I first flashed it but all the sprint settings were still in the epst.. If I do a hard reset, will i lose my settings?

everything in the EPST will remain, you will just lose any device settings and apps that you have installed.... try running ppst.exe again too after that hard reset....

i did the hard reset once again and now the ppst isnt even launching.. I did see it run in customizations though.. I tried to get on the web but no luck..

He did that 1 last night also and it didn't work, also like holo asked, is it a Sprint Mogul, cuz if it is then that could mean it still have the Sprint settings on the phone and that's where the root of your problem is

Didn't see it posted hat he tried so I made the suggestion. Have you tried flashin a custom ROM to see if it would work? Have you tried DCD's carrier cab?

yes I tried to install and run dcd carrier cab and it won't do the update now after I install it. How can I get rid of the Sprint settings that are still stuck in there?

To do a *228 (called OTA) on VZW or altell the spc/msl has to be 000000. Since this was a sprint to altell convert the spc was not all 0's and if you didn't reset it thats why it wont OTA. To reset it you will need to use qpst or cdma workshop.

Also try installing another dialer. The *228 does not work for me on some dialers. Carlos dialers work great for me and they install with a cab. I use his black dialer.

Also on the roaming indicator, another user dialed *228 option 3 to fix that problem for himself.

I found that CDMA Workshop but couldn't get it to see my phone. I tried installing some drivers that I found but still nothing.. Any ideas? I think this will be the last step in converting this over to Alltel..

Did you try installing one of the dialers above and dialing *228 option 3?
