Alltel stock ROM Upgrade question

Well a nb has to start somewhere. So here is my question, acording to my ppc6800 the ROM is 2.14.671, this also corilates to what HTC has on their site as the most recent http://www.htcamerica.net/support/pp...downloads.html
But I have seen reference to a 3.35 Stock ROM around here as the most current. So the question is which is correct as the most current? I have see reference if I go to 3.35 I can get my GPS going. But roomer has it there is a new ROM comming from ALLTEL soon for 6.1 and if I update to 3.35 will I have issues? I want my GPS and Hopefully get my WIFI working.

Well I went ahead with what was in this article(http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread...+update+alltel) and all is good. I now have my GPS, wait till I get home for the WIFI.
