Unfortunately, its doubtful that performance increases in video playback/Skyfire/etc are anything more than placebo. This is an improvement in 3d performance only, and per NuShrike, few developers utilize D3D. Some 3d games *may* play better, but for now that is probably about it. Oh, and you can now stare at shiny, spinny objects at a much more pleasing speed than you could before
