Re: Kitchens: Differences between 19588, 20226, and 20270
The numbers are the Windows Mobile build version. Higher is newer. It's not particularly important what device it came from.
There's probably a changelog buried at Microsoft somewhere.

Re: Kitchens: Differences between 19588, 20226, and 20270
In 20226 and 20227 the top bar likes to disappear, HTC task manager is currently taking the blame for this as it is pretty poorly coded, but others have experienced this while not having that app installed.
There are a few dialers don't work with 20226 and 20227 either. Some new version of smart dial is included by default that breaks the older touch dialer for example. |

Sprint's 3.56 ROM is based on WM build 19208. The newer builds (19588, 20270, etc) mostly come from Diamond/Pro dumps.

so what really is the advantage of the newer builds?
ive been using JD's rom for a couple weeks now, which is based off of build 19208, and it is honestly the most stable rom of any stock or custom rom ive used. battery life, speed, compatibility with apps, mem mgmt... are all really top notch. |

Supposed to be faster with better memory management. About as app friendly - maybe a little more stable. It's hard for us to be give you a precies "here's what's better" because we aren't Microsoft/HTC; we didnt author the changes and don't have access to a changelog.
