yes they are OEM's just cut and paste them into the DCD kitchen in user in the OEM's folder....be aware though not all of them will work...if you get an error it will be one of the OEM's you moved into it...

Re: Custom Kitchens

You guys shouldn't have to cut and paste. Just use the Kitchen that has all the right stuff lol.

Re: Custom Kitchens

can any one tell me what the minimum requirements are for any of these kitchens? How much processing power does it take to cook a rom? Do you need much ram?

Re: Custom Kitchens

I am doing it with 1gb RAM (until my 2 1gb sticks arrive next week) and It runs a little slow but builds fine. I am able to do it on my notebook with 512 as well.

It takes all the processing power you can throw at it.

Minimum requirements are 2000 (it'll really blow...you're much better off with XP), about 300MB of avail memory (I think <100MB of avail physical), and about 400MB of avail drive space (that's just to build...installation takes about 10MB, kitchens take about 30MB, and PPCGeeks_OEM takes about 100MB).

If it'll run 2000 or newer, you should be able to use buildos on it.

I know with DCD's I could just add a bunch of cabs, but I was looking for something similar to BuildOS where I could select a ROM and add all apps I wanted.
To clarify,

The adding .cab files thing after flashing is available to pretty much any kitchen/rom. Just add TautoInstall, Sashimi, or SDAutoRun (UC) to your rom.

There are multiple choices for a "kitchen". There are only 2 choices for a kitchen environment. The two primary contenders for kitchen environment are Bepe's buildos, and PPCKitchen's buildos (they're cousins). They both get the job done, but PPCKitchen's is easier to use and prettier (not to mention it comes with updater). Both versions "build" at essentially the same speed, (they are primarily limited by disk speed), with the nod going to Bepe's buildos (it does less). If you've never flashed before, you should use PPCKitchen's kitchen environment.

You should not build PPCKitchen kitchens or OEMs using Bepe's buildos as of 6/25/2008. Many oems will work; some oems and all new kitchens will not.

As to "kitchens", there are a bunch. PPCKitchen only makes stock kitchens (kitchens made from carrier provided rom images with as few changes as necessary). Dogguy's kitchen maker tries to turn a custom ROM into a kitchen (with varying degrees of success). Everyone else that makes a kitchen primarily does so to allow people to make the author's ROM with additional OEMs.

yeah im new to the flashing scene and didn't know if there were similar alternatives to buildOS...

right now im running 20270 from buildOS and love it. my only question is speed. i keep hearing dcds roms are alot faster... while the 20270 is not bad, ive noticed that it does have a serious ram leak. at the moment i have memmaid running to keep up with the ram.

apparently htc didn't think about ram when crafting the titan...

thanks again for your response.

Haven't tried dcd's or 20270. I'd magine they're pretty similar in speed given same pagepool and other apps.

There isn't a RAM "leak". Perhaps you are confusing cacheing.

The titan got barely enough memory. On the other hand, it help with battery life.

Is there a way to adjust the pagepool or the cache?

What ROM are you using? Is it one of No2Chem's? If so what build? How's the speed?
