Apparently this reg edit is NOT Stock compliant. Still not sure why.

You will need to test this on your individual build and see if it works.

I'm still looking to find out what changed between original registry and new, but it may be awhile till I know more.

Well it works fine on my hermes with the cab posted. Thanks again. Just awaiting a control panel hack and its all good. I don't use any scroll bars because I use ftouch flo for everything. I am looking into centering the icons so I don't have a 1/4" gap on the right. =P

can someone please post the stock values in case anyone wants to go back to 3 per line?

I'm finding touchflo scrolling much slower with 4 icons per line (as someone already mentioned in this thread). I'd like to change it back, but I didn't use the cab (so uninstalling won't work).
Can someone post the default values?

I had used "colonel_4_icons_in_a_row_in_programs.cab" on previous 20270 kitchen builds, but for some reason it didn't write the registry values on the 20273 kitchen. When I went looking for another solution, I found "GC 4 Columns.cab".

Not only did it give me four columns in Programs, it ALSO gave me four columns in Settings!!!

Thanks GC for apparently unknowingly fixing this.

I'm posting it again, in case people have trouble finding it.

^^^ I used the .cab above, and after installing it, and rebooting TWICE, it gave me 4 columns in programs, groovy!

However, it did not do the same for Settings, and I'd like it too.. Any way to get it to work for Settings too? Or another hack?

Confirmation....

It does work on the Touch, but like the rest it only works with the start menu programs link and not the "launch programs folder" on the HTC Home quick launch

which is where I always launch the programs folder from as well

If anybody finds or knows how to create a .lnk for the start menu programs link please post

I wasn't expecting it to work for Settings, but was pleasantly surprised that it did. I tried it on my friend's phone and couldn't get it to stick until I uninstalled colonel's 4 column cab, which didn't write the registry at all on 20273.

Hmm. Anyone know what key this is writing? Perhaps I can change it manually for Settings.
