I wasn't expecting it to work for Settings, but was pleasantly surprised that it did. I tried it on my friend's phone and couldn't get it to stick until I uninstalled colonel's 4 column cab, which didn't write the registry at all on 20273.

Here's a screenshot of four columns in Settings:

If the vertical scrollbar is too wide, it will override any icon settings. If you widen it out to around 18, you get only two columns of icons. I wonder if that's where the problem lies.

The vertical scrollbar doesn't make a difference, but I think I've figured out the problem anyway.

It works fine by using Start->Programs. It does NOT work by using HTC Home's launcher 'Programs' link.

For all the people who weren't able to get it to work, make SURE you update your value to "IconTitleFontSize" = 6, then soft reset. I made a cab a few posts up.

Then go to Programs via the Start Menu and not from any launcher.

Those who are running Stock check this reg:

Navigate to HKey_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\GWE\
and tweak the following values.
cyHScr : Horizontal Scrollbars Height in pixels (default is 13)
cxHScr : Horizontal Scrollbars Width in pixels (default is 20)
cyVScr : Vertical Scrollbars Height in pixels (default is 20)
cxVScr : Vertical Scrollbars Width in pixels (default is 13)

I checked my values and it has these changes.

still not working for me. tried colonel's and gc's and neither are doing anything. also imported the reg keys manually and still nothing. does it have anything to do with have some long program names in the start menu?

Try uninstalling whatever cabs you may have tried...and try this cab. Soft reset after it finishes.

Also, make sure you're going into Programs from the Start Menu, not from any launchers or other shells.

Apparently this reg edit is NOT Stock compliant. Still not sure why.

You will need to test this on your individual build and see if it works.

I'm still looking to find out what changed between original registry and new, but it may be awhile till I know more.
