Telecom New Zealand Upgrade response

Hi Folks,

Just thought I would post a copy of my correspondence with Telecom New Zealand, which was of course negative.

Jamie: I note that the HTC Titan has shipped with a ROM version of 1.30 and a
radio version of 1.47. This is very old and I would like to know when
and if Telecom will be upgrading to at least a 3.16 ROM and a radio of 3.27?

Telecom: Thanks for your e-mail. Software upgrades to PDA devices require
extensive testing to make sure they will function correctly on our
network before we can release them. We are always testing our devices to
make sure that the software they run will work effectively with our 027
network. When the latest software release has been deemed satisfactory
to use on our network, we will communicate with you to advise that an
upgrade is available.

If you have any further queries please feel free to write back.

Jamie: Thank you for the response.

I suppose the question is then are Telecom looking at upgrading the firmware/ROM's and/or O/S of the HTC Titan?

Telecom: Thanks for your e-mail. As far as I am aware, we are not looking at upgrading the firmware or ROM for the Titan at the current time, however if we do we will let you know in due course.

I Suppose that was pretty much expected.

Jamie

Re: Telecom New Zealand Upgrade response

Not bad on a contracted special. I got mine second hand and am just too reluctant to drop any other roms on to it as it's not under warranty.

Still sucks though.

Re: Telecom New Zealand Upgrade response

just bought one for $355.00 (nzd) and it looks just like new, i used to have an htc apache which i flashed to wm6. and now gonna nosey the forums here for a wm6 rom. looks like the titan needs some decent reading up before trying anything.
