Re: GPS not on target?
the new google maps works even better than the previous versions have for me. might help if you let us know what your phone is running, i.e. rom, radio. but as it seems, i would first try reinstalling your gps apps, then go to the hard reset, then try flashing a new/different rom.
and use UC or SASHIMI so flashing isnt a hassle anymore, itll all be automatic... |

Re: GPS not on target?
Sounds like a GPS reception problem, go outside and try again.
This is exactly why I want to make an external GPS antenna for our phones: http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=33762

Re: GPS not on target?
Thanks both of you. Using No2Chem 5067, never had this problem before. Seems to be a flaw with how google maps syncs with the GPS data, as I understand such things as this. The receiver is obviously working, being able to lock onto multiple satellites, as does HTC GPSTool, without hesitation. All capable programs display the same coordinates, With GPSTool showing rock steady for Latitude, but a varying in the tenths of seconds for Longitude, all while stationary, with 5 satellites locked. GPSTool information shows varying Longitude in the range of a quarter second, which doesn't sound like much, but shouldn't be varying at all, IMHO.
Curiouser and curiouser. I'll hard reset now, and see if things improve. It is disconcerting to have GPS locate your position across the street. Like being two places at once. |
