Re: for those that are new...

ppst is from the carrier and contains alot of carrier specific settings it can turn a verizon phone into a sprint and change it right back to a verizon phone. i personally do not know what it stands but i do know a little bit about what it does. carriers have an auto run after a flash that contains a script to run the ppst and this updates the pri and updates the settings.

the EPST is also carrier specific it shows you your carrier settings you can start your data, change settings, update your roaming list, with the REV A ROMs you can change your data parameters which entails you enabling or disabling the REV A. you must be careful within your EPST since it does contain very sensitive carrier info.

lets not reopen that again i was one of the people that tested that theory out then became more confused than ever. i am glad to help new people i mean i was a total newb 10 months ago. i had never owned a ppc and i wasnt very computer savy but i have learned alot over that amount of time. i am nowhere near the most knowledgeable person here but i have gathered quite a bit of knowledge thanx to this forum so i am glad to help the new members. i am not pointing this in any direction but all should do a thorough search before askin a question. i understand some info is really hard to find but alot of new members do not search at all.

ok buddy... im sorry... but if you check your sign in date vs mine I will tell you that I've been doing this longer than you. check pdaphonehome.com... we started with the same phone. and so if you knew... why don't you answer either like how the guy after answered. or linked me a thread that was to be productive. and if you want to tell me what to do like search... atleast take into assumption that I did do that. but i couldn't find it. or my questions were ignored bc it was kinda off topic.

Look dude I really wasn't trying to be smart or not answer your questions, all I was saying is even if there were stickies spoon feeding everyone on every single detail there will still be someone asking a n00b question with someone replying with "did you read the stickies, did you search?" and then they would say yes but still wouldn't understand. And yes I signed on with ppcgeeks december/06 but that really means nothing. I have roamed pdaphonehome as well as ppcgeeks and xda long before I actually signed up. I really don't have alot to say on these forums, I just like to read and learn because all this tech stuff intrigues me. For example, I have been on this website just about everysingle day or every other day yet still I only have like 90 posts or something like that, thats because I like to read this stuff, and by reading I have learned and understood so much more.

I couldn't agree more....I knew nothing about this phones potential or custom ROMS until I signed on to this forum....I like to help also because when I knew nothing a lot of people stepped up and taught me....I also did a ton of reading and asked for help in the chat rooms....which is a great tool for NOOBS!!! ......and searching is not always easy in here but as you said a lot of people do not search at all...( we know this because I can get a question and punch it up in the search engine and find 20 some threads on the subject) sometimes that is aggravating when people do not want to put any effort into there problem....SEARCH is everybody's friend in here.......but one way or another someone will help you out in here...never had a problem with that... (Puff is great for this, you just have to figure out what avatar is using for the day....lol)....

It wont take too much more fussing and one of the mods will be in here giving away gum and butt woopins... and guess what, they all out of gum! But on a lighter note, reading ALL of the stickies will kill most questions, but if you need more info cut/paste the section you dont understand with a link to the stickie you are refering from, then ask from there, dont forget to include type of phone and carrier plus rom id. the more info you provide the better somone can help. Sometimes a certain mix doesnt bode well or reacts different. There is thousands of us out there so be calm and lets beat the problem:violent1:, not each other.:occasion5:
