Newbie - Volume Fix Help!

I have the stock rom 2.09 and want to fix the volume - I have read many of the threads here but am still lost. Can anyone walk me through step by step of what needs to be done with the audipara files on both the xv6800 and which audiopara file to download and what part of that file to install and how to actually install it? Sorry but I am struggling.

no2chem has an app that adjusts the audiopara file....Pretty nice..
