Also, something I noticed that is completely unique to your ROMs... Things get committed to ROM instantly.

I got a text message when the first boot came up and of course, auto install ran and then reset the phone... usually I'd have lost that text message but when the phone came back on, it was still there!

I even restored my contacts, call history, etc., with PIMBackup and immediately soft reset. Normally, I'd have lost everything again. I generally have to wait about 5 minutes before a soft reset.

The only glitch that was apparent from first boot is that the title bar pops up over the Windows Mobile logo before the calibration screen pops up. RAM seems to actually be about 2MB higher (pagepool change?) and amazingly, it feels even zippier.

Is there anything in particular that you'd like me to test out?

that title bar bug is something that happens sometimes it pops up sometimes it won't .... I haven't isolated that yet and may not .... right now I'm concerned about performance ..... so how is it ... is it ready to for release

I will say this I have tried a lot of roms......this is definitely by far the fastest yet.....I am running SASHAMI right now to install all of my apps and will report back shortly if there are any bugs......AWESOME WORK BRO......never have I seen windows folder open up that quick.....:headbang::headbang:

Re: JD's ROM's

I would have to say that this is the fastest ROM I've ever used as well.

Seriously great work! No application compatibility issues that I've noticed just yet but I'm just installing all of my apps.

The title bar thing really isn't that big of a deal - at least it doesn't completely disappear like some of no2chem's builds have lol.

EDIT: JD, is there a reason why you always have the device set to not sleep? Out of the box its not set to sleep on or off the charger and has to be changed.

Re: JD's ROM's

Ok still installing my apps onto test 2, but found 1 small issue.

When assigning buttons (After installing MSVC), I noticed that the picture of the button that usually is on the left hand side of the screen is missing. In other words it just says Button 1, Button 2, etc.... I know what each button is, but only because I do this on every flash.

I will get all my apps installed tonight and run it hard tomorrow. I will give feedback tomorrow afternoon or evening.

By the way, super fast on 6mb pagepool!

Thats not a issue I did that .... not a bug at all ... some people like to reassign those buttons so I just changed the names and removed the icons to make them generic

Gotcha, but how do you know what button is for what if you don't change them as often as I do?

In other words what is Button 1?

edit: Guess you can just test the buttons to see what they do and match up to what they are assigned to. No biggy, if you are going to change them you should probably know what they are for.

lol you are about to complicate this .... why !!!!!!! lol

button 1 -messaging
button 2 -internet explorer
button 3 -wireless manager
button 4 (press &hold) -camera
button 5 (press & hold)-voice notes
button 5-usb manager

now if you change them it would look like this

button 1 -whatever
button 2 -whatever
button 3 -whatever ...... and so on most of the buttons on the titan has a icon on it like the messaging button is button 1

Jak......

Been running it for about 4 hours now.....no problems at all... tested petty much everything except for beam....ICS, GPS, Sprint TV. Sling player, TCPMP, MSVC and IE ran perfect......battery life is normal...sync'd over 400 contacts in 1 minute...I run quite a few apps and still sitting at 16MB.....that is with using TL....and it is a memory hog....I am more than happy with the speed and memory....in my eyes it is ready for release....excellent ROM!!!!.......keep up the great work.....and thanks for letting me test..:headbang::headbang:

Re: JD's ROM's

Installed apps on this rom

spb shell 2.1.1
spb phone suite
spb watcher (replace today screen with spb shell)
resco 2007
tcmp
s2u
Icontact
goosync
phm tools
SiruisWM5
Cleartemp
Diamond skin for WMP
AEplus
touch pal 3.5
acb toggle
opera mini
spb back up
pim back up
memaid
pocket imfomant
quick menue
nueLed
live search

19megs at boot

Have an issue where some of my folders in my storage card have vanished in my file explore but I can see them with Resco.

Also when I started getting a lag running a programs of the card.

Probally a software issue vs the rom, Im going to flash my other titan with out couple of programs and see what I get.

Re: JD's ROM's

ROM: Test 2
Apps Include:

Live Search
MSVC
SkyFire
Windows Live
Office 2007
Exchange Activesync

Very Fast (Pagepool at 6mb), and 16.77mb memory after boot, even with MSVC.

Only Issue I ran into:

When installing Live Search it hung up on me during the install. The progress bar didn't move at all and I had to soft reset. After reset it installed fine, so probably a software issue vs. a ROM issue.

My opinion would be yes on release worthy, after a few hours of testing.

Recomendation: Add the % battery to the battery power screen along with the bar.

Re: JD's ROM's

Still having an very rare issue with some of my storage card file folder showing up empty using file explorer. If I take the card out and put it back usually solves the problem.

I dont lose them using resco explorer.

I duplicated the problem a few times on 2 titans with a combination of a 2gig and 8gig card. One titan has half the number of programs installed.

Can you add 1% battery incriments?

I had some issues with that also......I think I isolated it to Resco..(why it messes with the regular FE I havent figured out)....I have noticed this behavior in a few other ROMs lately....I un-installed Resco and the problem went away....Total Commander and FE together work with no problems....

P.S. X2 on the 1% battery increments request:mrgreen:

Blitzed26

I would say yes it was software related.....reason being I flashed twice because I had some reg issues with the SASHMI install.....both times I installed LS with no problems....

Everyone's replies really has me intrigued. It's been a week since my last ROM flash and I think I might be having withdrawals. Will it be possible to somehow add back the IRDA drivers? It will drive my wife nuts if she can't send me calendar appointments by IR.

Almost a full day, and the only thing I can report is Bluetooth shutting down on me 1 time. I had to go into the wireless manager and turn it back on. Happened around 2pm and haven't had the problem again since.

Re: JD's ROM's

just out of curiosity-
just started to download the file and its just under 30 mb. that seems pretty small! the alltel stock rom i got saved on my card is something like 88 mb, and it seems that the dcd's ive been using are around 50 mb.

so...is your rom just that much cleaner than the rest??

anyways, thanks JD been looking forward to this

jason25 08-04-2008 09:04 AM

Re: JD's ROM's

It is because you are only downloading the nbh file. dcd rom's that I have seen have been exe files.

no, im talking about the nbh file as it is saved right on my sd card. the filesize im talking about is coming right from my ppc's screen.

and i guess a quick edit, im not sure if i read it wrong or something but the new jd rom is 41 mb, which is still more than half the size of the alltel stock i have saved and about 10 mb smaller than any of dcd's recent roms.

anyway- im just curious sometimes.. :drunken:
