I had the same problem, and I have a file server that I use for central storage, and my "My Documents" folder is redirected. Apparently buildOS doesn't like the fact that its on a network share.

What I did, is just copy the entire BuildOS RUU directory to a local drive (like your C Drive), and run the ROMUpdateUtility from there.
Wow you are an F'IN livesaver bro.

I'm not on a domain or anything but i figured i'd copy and paste the BuildOS RUU files into a folder closer to root just in case it didn't like vista's documents location.

Ran it from c:\temp and worked fine!

Thanks a ton.

Glad that it helped. F'n Vista and its "virtual folders"

Just one more reason not to "upgrade"

I actually had to unistall the kitchen and manually delete the folders in Program Files\ppckitchen AND the build files in \Documents and Settings\application files\etc... you find it (haha, I forget and I'm writting it on my titan). And then Re-downloading buildos.msi and the files.
The transition to the new buildOS file structure was not smooth for me.
In conclusion:
Back up your user OEM's and Projects folder w/ selections.txt in them
Uninstall buildOS
Delete BOTH app folders
and reinstall+redownload.

It was my last resort and it works now.
In short, No. All you had to do was download ppcgeeks_oem.rar manually and put it in the kitchens folder to fix the Samsung D3D issue.

It is NEVER necessary to delete the kitchens or the projects folder.

It shoulnd't be necessary to uninstall BuildOS, EVER. The only problem I can think of is you last ran buildos many months ago...then it should tell you to install a more current build to proceed.

The temp directories can be deleted if you want, but they are deleted on every build. It is true that if you upgraded from a really old version (sounds like you did) that old temp dirs from the prior release will hang around until you manually delete them. I'll fix that at some point - it won't interfere with anything, just chew up a few hundred MB of space needlessly.

You should NEVER flash from a network drive. That's why the RUU complains if your documents folder is located on network storage. I'll try to come up with a workaroud in some future release.

Likes Vista just fine. You can find the RUU in documents/Buildos RUU after each build.

that's an issue on your computer, being vista its prolly that UAC or something stupid like that... but the fact that it works on your computer but in a different location, not only proves that it's not the application, but more specifically its that location that is 'protected' that is the problem...

When buildos ran it as part of the build process, did it error? or does it only error when you run it manually? What's the full path to your documents directory?

Re: Titan 20270 GPS kitchen

I was getting user.hv errors and the like with all updates. I redid the d3d oem manually and it worked great.

Re: Titan 20270 GPS kitchen

I am having problems sending MMS with the LennySH Arcsoft Cab. On the stock ROM I think it works (the last I checked). Now it don't. Any ideas? I can receive okay (I sent one from Mom to me).
