well, I would guess that it is HTC Task Manager aka evil little app. That thing has always caused some sort of issue. Maybe build without it and see if you still have issues

[While testing I have found that Windows Media Player cannot play these files as well, so it must be missing a codec for .m4a files, I'm just not sure what I have to add in order to get it working again.]

Also Buttons are still totally gone and you have to install the cab file from the 20226 thread.
Convert to Wav files and they work
Search for recordpad on google and download the switcher...

Did you put something else in your kitchen that uses the upper right-hand corner? I know that Quick Menu and Magic Button put icons there that can interfere with the HTC Task Manager. I turn off the Quick Menu battery icon and have stopped using Magic Button.

There seems to be an issue introduced in 20226 where the Clock shows up on the Taskbar even if you turn it off through the Control Panel settings. I had accidentally found some combination of turning the setting off and on and then soft resetting which put the regular battery status icon back up there on the Today screen, but can't seem to duplicate it now, so I edited the registry and changed HKLM\Software\Miscrosoft\Shell titlebar clock from 1 to 0 then soft reset to fix it manually. This also seemed to correct the issue where the Vogue dialer will pop up when exiting apps sometimes.

ever since i went to 20226, when i use phone weaver, if the file is a wav file, when the alert (text, mms...) goes off its just a ding. when i check in the settings it has changed and then if i change it manually it works. If the file is a wma file, all works perfect...anyone else use this or another program that changes the alerts?

Yes, and now my phone is slow. I am just waiting to see if anyone else has not been able to select multiple emails in 20270 or a fix for it so I can go back to 20270.
