Why do some ROM's work with TomTom and others dont??

I have flashed my phone a bunch of times with all of the great work that is done here, but some of the times I cant use the TomTom7 navigator without having to "prime" the GPS first.

I have changed the settings from Internal GPS to Other GPS, Com 4, 4800 Baud

I guess the question is what is done to the ROM that doesnt require you prime it?

Thanks

It's the gps driver that's used in the rom.

You can find the gps driver oem in dcd's kitchen. Just download and find in the oem folder, then add to your oem folder. I dunno how to tell which is installed, except wether it works or not.

There is a GPSID driver that requires some programs to be "primed". If the software you are using doesn't support GPSID, you need a primer. I know that in No2Chems latest roms the GPSID driver has been removed allowing just about any GPS software to work.
