Custom Roms...need hlp

Im gettin my mogul today fresh off of ebay. I looked online about how to put custom roms on the phone and its really confusing. Can anybody list the software needed and the steps? I know there is info on how to do it but its just not organized in a format a noob like me can understand. thanx.
