Can no longer flash my ROM.

I suppose a little history to explain the problem should be done.

I am a n00b. I flashed my phone the first time last week and it felt great. I wanted to flash the phone to get GPS ability so I looked for the latest radio and PPCKitchen with No2Chem's 5067. I tried to research and understand the process as much as possible before mustering the courage to burn. I finally did.

I started with the SPL which is what I believe started the problem. I installed the OLIpro 1.2. (I know, it should be 2.40, I'll get there.) after installing the SPL, I installed the 3.42.30 radio and a rom from PPCKitchen.

Funny thing about the Old SPL and the newer ROM, phone reboots every 30 seconds. Makes for short phone conversations. Well, I realized the problem quickly and reflashed the phone's SPL to 2.4 and the rebooting stopped. Actually, everything is working smoothly now. Problem I know have is I can not flash anymore. I have only tried flashing with the RUU through USB. No matter what I attempt to flash, the progress bar reaches 8 to 10% and the phone resets and I get a messages from RUU saying "Invalid command".

I'd like to be able to reflash since my first rom isn't exactly configured how'd I like it. any ideas would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
