treo800w: what a difference video drivers make(I think)

Went to the sprint store today and loaded up opera 9.5 beta1 on a Treo800w and a Touch. I can not believe the difference in speed and overall stability. I have a titan and have been trying all the opera versions and up till now was pretty satisfied, until I saw it on the treo. Scrolling and the zoom animation was so much smoother. So I loaded opera on the touch and while it was a better experience than on my titan, due to the extra program memory, it was still horrible compared to the treo. I understand the resolution of the treo played a huge part in why it looked so much better, but the smoothness of the scrolling was really incredible. Ive seen the "progress with htc drivers" thread, but never had any idea what a difference it could make. Is this mainly becuz of the video drivers our titans lack? Or am I completely off base here?

Very interesting story. I'm fairly certain that you're correct -- accelerated 2D video would really speed up something like Opera 9.5.

I am pretty new at this, I just got an 800w and want to put opera and some other things on it. I tried to put spoons alarm on it, but could not get it to work. Now I am a little leary to try opera. Can anyone offer me some instructions. I read what I think was the best way to do it, but for spoons alarm there did not seem to be a cab file in the zip file.
