Re: Linux/Android working on Titan

I have joy using the contents of the .zip on the stock 512MB SD card.

Not being able to end a call that I inititate is a killer, lol

The touch screen is so bad I can't even open an application :(

Re: Linux/Android working on Titan

some of us don't have multiple cards and don't fuss with dragging multiple cards around. Beside you want a larger card to work so that when this is all ironed out, we will be able to install apps and store apps on the SDHC card.

am i the only one that can't get this to boot from the Sandisk 512MB microSD card that came with the phone?

mount: mounting /dev/block/mmcblk0p1 on /Sdcard failed: Invalid argument
Failed
Failed to Mount SD Card
/bin/sh: can't access tty; job control turned off

format the card as FAT32 using Windows. The stock card is formatted as FAT and will NOT work.

it was formatted with Windows as FAT32 long ago....i've used it to flash ROMs before....but i will reformat and redownload the .zip just in case it is corrupt....even though, i don't think the files would have extracted if it was...

EDIT: still a no-go......same error.....weird....

Works fine from my 512MB card. Copied all files to root dir and ran Haret.exe. Not too much functionality yet. Great progress though. Will be nice to see if keyboard drivers are available. Doesn't look like the data connection would work at this point. The Google page is a cached homepage only.

huh....weird....it makes me wonder whether my sd reader hardware is slightly different than those who got it working....i do know that i have one of the newer generation moguls.....as far as i knew, the only hardware that definitely changed across generations was the keyboard, but the sd reader may have as well....

my friend was a 6700 user and got his got his mogul day 1. his keyboard is definitely different, in an annoying way.....when you press a button, there's no "click".
using his was the motivation for me to get my own, but after using mine for a while, then taking his to "hook-up" for him, i found the lack of that minimal tactile feedback of pressing a key really annoying. it was causing me to press harder/longer resulting in ttexxt liike thhiss.......

edit: i got mine a little after last thanksgiving.

damn....those pics make me even more jealous that i can't get it to run...quick questions: is the maps app more like google earth then google maps?....the pic with the globe gives me that impression....if so how is the graphical performance of the zoom and does it do satellite view?

desairs 07-15-2008 10:37 PM

Re: Linux/Android working on Titan

I believe google earth. well thats the thing. since we dont have full support of the hardware keys, i cant zoom in. All the pictures i took show the menus i can get too. The on screen keyboard doesnt even work properly so i cant browse the web or send texts. But this build runs well and looks promising. I cant wait until we can natively run Android. oh and the touch pro lol

To anyone:
Does the hardware keyboard work? If so, I think we can use this info to get that multiple keypress tool working.

I was able to run it on dcd 3.2.2. I made a couple of phone calls and checked out some of the other items but there is no way to enter text (that I could find). The power button brings up the option to turn off screen, power off or turn off radio.

very cool, and surprisingly it worked the first time for me. would be sweet if it was fully functional. i wonder how much free RAM there will be once it is? any guesses?

I got it to boot from a 4GB card, but it just gets stuck on that black screen with a red thingy going across it, anyone else have that problem?

Re: Linux/Android working on Titan

Got the virtial keyboard to 'work' lol, even though it shows at the top of the screen its registering keys at the bottom, so click at the bottom of the screen where you think the keyboard letter would be and HOLD. that will highlight whichever letter you're hitting on the visual keyboard and you can hold down and drag until you're on the correct letter!

using it in the browser right now and i'm able to pull up web pages through google!

Holy cow... those pictures look awesome. I'm going to update that post on mopocket.com with pics, as long as no one minds.

Anyone have any clearer pics, or post a video?
I'm still looking for my 512msd card...

Very early alpha, but nonetheless, there are many people waiting for it.

How? Will you post your files please.

Re: Linux/Android working on Titan

I've read through this entire thread, and it seems that some ppl are having problems running this. I don't know if this may be the problem, but when I went to the link in the first post, I thought at first that I had to DL all the files separately. Only after paying close attention, did I realize that the first line underneath FILES: is a link to the entire .zip for this. Just DL it, and extract it (6 files) directly to your storage card, then run haret-0.5.1.exe. Maybe this isn't the case, but if it helps one person, then great!

Re: Linux/Android working on Titan

not much to post besides what i posted already, pretty much when the keyboard is showing at the top of the screen IMAGINE that its really at the bottom of the screen, and just press and hold on the bottom of the screen where you THINK a letter should be if the keyboard was there, and then while you're holding down you'll see whatever letter you're hitting lighting up on the virtual keyboard at the top of the screen. then you can just drag it to the correct letter and so forth.

I understood all of that, but what I can't seem to figure out is how to get the keyboard to show up at all. Is it staring me right in the face?
