Re: 3.56 Data/Voice question.
You have to have a EV icon.1x icon means no data and phone calls. EVDO allows multi task on data on phone a call. Hope thats is clear. This also works on WM 6.0

Re: 3.56 Data/Voice question.
Outside of PDANet's proxy mode, I've never heard of that... Especially as a WM6.1 feature. Obviously I could have missed something, but otherwise, sorry man.

Re: 3.56 Data/Voice question.
Not true you can still recieve data in 1x, and evdo doesnt allow data/voice at the same time. They might operlap for a short period of time, i.e. if you thether you laptop and a call comes in the data will drop. I havent used the new pdanet yet but anyone that has please chime in.

Re: 3.56 Data/Voice question.
I thought that EVDO rev A allowed both? I know I was in Daytona this weekend and I was on the phone while using Live search for GPS and the map keeped on downloading while I was on the phone.

Re: 3.56 Data/Voice question.
Nope this doesn't exist. I've asked this question before and it basically boils down to you would need 2 seperate radios one for voice and one for data which no CDMA carrier does or ever will do.

Re: 3.56 Data/Voice question.
Well, Technically, they do. Like if you are in Columbia, SC, your phone will have EVDO data for sprint.... Sprint doesn't have EVDO coverage. They have some deal with Alltel, and so the phone goes on Alltel for Data, and Sprint for voice. So the data is connected to a 800mhz tower for Altel and 1900 for Sprint. Sounds like more that one radio to me. Now, Being able to use data and voice at the same time, technically, it should be doable. Will they do it? Thats another question.

Re: 3.56 Data/Voice question.
Only one radio - that switches between the different tower "channels". Both tower "channels" are not active simultaneously.
