Re: Home Agent Primary Listed as 255.255.255.255???

I set my preferred home agents back and noticed the setting applied again after the 2.04_003 PRI update. It appears sprint is aware and doing this intentionally.. 255.255.255.255 is a broadcast address. I would assume either: a) sprint has added new HA's b) its intended to make your device find the HA nearest you. It does work fine, this can be proven by setting both HA's to 255.255.255.255. |

Re: Home Agent Primary Listed as 255.255.255.255???
Thanks----I wonder why it's the Primary....????
Anybody know why???? I also found this new ROM set automatically "Enable" for EVDO REV A----unlike the 3.35 which set it to "Disabled" But with the 3.35----Disabled actually Enabled it---confusing This version----Enable apparently means Enable.... |

Re: Home Agent Primary Listed as 255.255.255.255???
255.255.255.255 automatically selects the "best" HA for you. If you look at the programing for Verizon phones, they use 255.255.255.255 also. It is actually awesome that they do that now. When you have a NY number and you go to LA, it will use LA's HA, and not have to route all traffic through NY. Unlike if it has the NY HA as it's primary. The secondary HA is usally the HA close to the phone number that Sprint gives you. That way if 255.255.255.255 doesn't provide a good HA, you have a backup.
