Evdo?

I am running the 5067, radio 3.42.30 and when I am in an area with EVDO my 6800 is in EVDO Mode but as soon as I start a data app it switches to 1x data disabling EVDO all together.

What is the fix for this?

How strong is the EVDO signal when it happens? At home I show an EVDO signal but it is weak and when I try to connect it always switches to 1x.

Pretty strong. My stock 6800 (wifes phone) uses the EVDO when i run data apps in the same area.

Ok I have picked through all my settings and have compared them to my stock 6800.

From what I have come up with is that in the ##33284 Field Trial mode is that the HDR is giving different info.

Now I do not know what HDR means but I do see that my stock 6800 is giving me a different status than my modded 6800.

The main difference I noticed is the AN/AAA authentication

Stock 6800 is showing a 1=Authenticated
Modded 6800 is showing a 2=Failed

Now is this related to the EVDO not working and if so, is there a way to fix that?

I am running 2.40 olipro with the 5067 and radio 3.42.30

have you done a speed test? could just be showing the wrong icon.

No I have not been able to compare speed tests currently since Berlin WIS is not EVDO but I noticed the issue of mine not using EVDO being in Milwaukee today.

Though I did a speed test at home

Modded 6800 speed test 1x data




It was the same on my wifes laptop with 1x data.

The PRL is the same between both phones. I am guessing it is current since I have only had the stock 6800 for a week.

With the exception of that HDR setting in the diagnostics everything else is identical.

Launch field trail and see what your dbm signal strength is under the 1x heading and let us know. As far as the authenticated thing, are you able to place and receive calls?

Also, go to Start - Settings - Phone - Services and pick "Mode of operation" on the list and click "Get Settings". Make sure it's set to "Hybrid" instead of 1x. If it's not, I believe it'll make you soft reset after the switch.

dbn is at -77 currently......

As for the making and receiving calls I have no problem.

It is set to Hybrid.

I am in Milwaukee also as of this post and still having problems with EVDO disabling.
