Re: Flashing/downgrading with bad data port
I believe that imcokeman made a relocker that you can run from the storage card, but as I recall it wasn't recommended for general use. Try getting in touch with him or searching for things like storage card, sd card, relocker, spl, etc.
I recently had issues with my USB port as well. I wasn't able to sync, flash ROMs, etc. In my case, a simple cleaning of the port did the trick. Although yours may be actually damaged. |

Re: Flashing/downgrading with bad data port
Thanks for the information. I searched around, but didn't see that version of the relocker. I'll contact imcokeman for details. One other question... as I was reading, it seemed that once you go to a gps-enabled rom, you can't downgrade the bootloader. Is that the case? If so, how does one do warranty on verizon (where I understand they still don't have an official gps rom)?

Re: Flashing/downgrading with bad data port
I can't give you all the details, but from what I understand it is not recommended to revert to a non-GPS ROM/radio from one that is GPS enabled. It's my understanding that certain areas of memory may not be written over when you flash back, thus causing the potential for issues. I have heard of people doing it successfully, but I've never tried myself. Cokeman can probably give you all the details. Also maybe try the chat.

Re: Flashing/downgrading with bad data port
You mean send it in running dcd's rom without changing anything, or try to downgrade the rom and leave the bootloader at 2.4?

Re: Flashing/downgrading with bad data port
Just an update... the replacement phone came today, so I activated it and sat down to upgrade the bootloader... only thing is this phone came with olipro 2.40 already installed! Obviously a refurb, but it does save me a step. Big shot out to imcokeman for the pm. Gracias!

Ha! I've heard a few other stories like that as well. Custom ROMs are are pretty popular I guess.
