Re: ##eri not working?
I don't think that's it, as I loaded a VZW PRL, and then when I OTAP'd my phone it also DL'd a PRL. I'm still not sure what the deal is... I did end up gettting the ##eri working, by flashing a DCD rom to the phone. I still can't get the actual ERI file to load though, either by putting it in the ERI folder in bitpim, or through the ##eri interface. Last edited by 3liter914-6; 06-02-2008 at 10:25 PM. |

Re: ##eri not working?
So can anyone tell me how to change the ERI?
I tried using the file is this thread: http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=20090 and one I pulled off of my Moto Q, but with no luck. I do the ##eri, throw the 0's in there for the spc, and click "edit", browse to the file on my card, and then select and "OK". It gives me the pinwheel then errors out. Does this file need to be treated specially somehow? Can I not copy it in windows? It's really an annoyance that something that seems so easy on the 6700s is this much of a PITA for me. |

I forgot to mention I've tried QPST also. The /ERI dir on my Mogul is empty when viewed from QPST or BitPim. I've tried copying the file I have (eri.bin from the thread I linked to) in QPST and BitPim, then rebooting with no luck. Does anyone have an XV6800 that could tell me what, if anything, is in the ERI folder on their factory VZW phone? I'm wondering if it could be named something else (I looked on my Q and it was, the ERI file was also 2K vs .2K for the one in the XV6700 thread. DCD: Thanks for your kitchen and rom, I'm using the 3.0.4 right now, and it works very nicely. |

Re: ##eri not working?
I'm the one who posted that ##eri code and uploaded the eri it will fail on 6800's and 6900's b/c the phone still has a sprint or what ever carriers's PRI not PRL on it and there is no verizon PRI released yet for those phones. This only works on a 6700 (except on rare occasions had it work on a Qwest and Blugrass phone with no vzw PRI)after you have loaded a vzw PRI on it. Currently there is no way to get rid of the roam triangle on a converted to vzw titan or vogue. You can use cody's personalizer to change your banner to verizon wireless however, search here for it.

Interesting. Yes your post is the one I used to convince myself I could convert a Mogul to an XV, and for the most part it worked out ok. Really a pretty easy process, once you get it all figured out. I might write it up if anyone's interested. So if VZW releases an official ROM update for the XV6800/Mogul, wll I be able to get a PRI then? I guess it's not really a big deal, I intended this to just be a placeholder phone, and a converting it to VZW a fun little diversion. I was angry and annoyed because your thread made me think it was possible, but I couldn't figure it out, but if it's truly impossible with the current state of stuff, I can be satisfied now I think. |

Re: ##eri not working?
I have a sprint mogul that I converted to VZW and I flashed it with the latest XV6800 MR2 update and it now has pri version 2.03_002, the same as my XV6900. It did not flash the ERI version, that's still 0, but my XV6900 is 4. Since I don't have a VZW branded 6800, could I use the ERI file from my XV6900? Or could someone extract the VZW ERI from the MR2 update? If anyone would like to continue this post and project that would be great!
