Need Help to adding animation bootsplash without reflashing

I just recently upgraded to latest kitchen but did not get the animation bootsplash to work, besides, I like the animation bootsplash for Sprint. Could someone please help me with a how to and also a tool I can use to change/update my bootsplash screen without reflashing. Thanks for your anticipated help

Re: Need Help to adding animation bootsplash without reflashing

I'm having a similar problem with the bootsplash animation. In my last several PPCGeeks kitchen-built ROMs, the Sprint Ahead animation showed only during the first reboot after the flash, but never again.

It doesn't matter if I reboot from QuickMenu, soft reboot with the stylus, or boot from a complete power down with the power switch.

I'd sure like to get this figured out before taking the plunge to the 5067 kitchen.

Well, I went ahead and flashed to the 5067, but still have this issue. I get the animation ONLY on the first boot after the flash, but NEVER again.

Re: Need Help to adding animation bootsplash without reflashing

You can change the boot animation if you have advanced configuration oem installed. There is a option for startup animation. Add the one you want into /windows and change the entry in advanced config to match the new one's name then wait a few minutes and soft reset. Otherwise you can grab one from the ppc kitchen animation folder and rename it to WMStartup_ani.gif (or what ever its called in your rom) and overwrite the original in windows with resco file explorer (or rename original to WMStartup_ani_old.gif whatever works for you). Check registry HKLM/Software/HTC/Startup Animation for your entry.
