Flashing custom rom, downgrading radio

I am currently running the latest alltel rom on a sprint phone but I am on the alltel network.

Rom: 3.35.671.9
Radio: 03.37.20

I would like to try the PPCKitchen application and build a custom rom. The instructions say to flash with the sprint rom (3.35.651.2) that has a lower radio version. Will this harm my phone to downgrade the radio? Also, since I have already ran the unlocker 2.40 to be able to load the alltel rom, do I need to do that again before flashing with a custom rom? Thank you.

Re: Flashing custom rom, downgrading radio

Yes you can install a older radio and it will be fine but I think you should keep the radio you have. I think that radio its (instructions) talking about is the lowest one acceptable for use with a GPS ROM. No you don't have to unlock it again. The 2.40 will stay the same.

Re: Flashing custom rom, downgrading radio

So instead of installing the sprint rom, I can skip that step as well as the step for the unlocker and just install a custom rom? Thank you.
