Emergency Xv6800 flashed to 3.39 radio
 

Yesterday I flashed to the Sprint ROM that had the 3.39 radio then flashed back to a NEXVision ROM and set it for the VZW....since then I have the triangle saying that I am roaming. I checked with VZW and the said I am active on the network and authenticated. It seems as if the phone is confused now and thinks its Sprint eventhough it is connecting to VZW...Anyone that can help it would be greatly appreciated.

You let the customizations run didint you?

Reflash the stock sprint ROM.
When the screen comes up that says "Touch here to setup your phone" Soft Reset your phone
Then proceed and reflash the Nex Rom.

Thanks, I just tried that and it is still roaming with "preferred network"

I believe you have to take it back to the stock VZW stuff and then go back to the Sprint Rom and soft reset before the customizations run.

not only have I not let the customizations run but i have now flashed to Nex's Roms and even built my own and I am still roaming. I can program it via *228 option 1 and 2 but I cannot use *22899 that I have always been able to use. All I do is roam at this point...it is awful.

I would check the PRL on phone now. almost sounds like it cant find the towers it needs. maybe update PRL with latest from Corolada PRL's
they are showing a 51020 with date of 3/20/08 on it.
could be wrong PRL, or could be an Akey issue possibly.

its definitely not an AKey issue, tech support said i was active on the network yesterday with no issues. I am receiving data and can make calls but it is all in a "roaming capacity" if it is a PRL issue, what can I do?

well you could change the PRL and see what effect it has. see if the ##PRL# works with your dialer (##775#) then input your MSL to go into edit mode. from there you can edit PRL, browse to new one, then ok your way out and it will update it and reset phone. sometimes just going into EPST and re-adding MDN and MSID will fix issues like that too.

edit- Device Information on phone will show what existing PRL is.

##775# goes to VZW and says that my call can't be completed as dialed. I have the newest version as was stated above.

damnit, verizon. try ##775 Talk button...that might work. but if its latest prl already...maybe the MDN/MSID refresh would help.

no luck. I just tried entering in the AKey again with no luck...would everything go back to normal if I flashed everything back to stock?

hmm, weird. ya flashing back to stock might be a good idea just to make sure all is good there. then you could try again.

Its the PRI verison not PRL. Check under ##778 vzw one for a 6800 is 1.35.002 and eri should be version 4 check with #4357. I have two moguls on vzw w/ roam triangle and haven't figured out how to load a new one (ship exe. rom wont even do it tried on a 6700 and tried stock xv6800 just dont have a ship .exe yet). Once a VZW PRI is on there you can manually load an eri with ## eri. Hopefully someone will know how to change the PRI on this phone. The Perferred Roaming Index is what displays the carrier's ID.

Your all way off base it has nothing to do with the PRI or the a-key it has to do with having improper info in your epst. SID/ NID and what not. The easiest way to fix it roll all the back and flash a full Verizon stock rom including radio and let the customizations run. The other method would to get a copy of CDMA workshop and edit your blown NAM settings. U can try a couple edits in EPST by going ##778 send verify everything with a working setup. Just to stop anyone saying no its the PRI your PRI is upated upon doing a *228 option 2 and u said this was successful so that aint it have you tried a *22890?

If you really have no idea how to do any of this u have 2 options call WDTS and get them to send a replacement or send me the phone and I can fix it.

We're still off base with some of the comments here, because I just went through this. If you are on a verizon and you let sprint customizations run, that's a no no. And I had a hodge podge phone (verizon rom sprint customization on a verizon phone)
So what I did was
1. I foolishly ran titan relocker and downgraded back to the verizon rom
what this did was set me back with my verizon settings just one problem, I had no data connection. So I was lost without a cause I went to google and I came up with a simple answer
2. call verizon wireless and say that you updated PRL and I keep getting error 11 (which if you do what I instructed, you may or may not. Some have some have not so just in case you don't have a data connection) is it possible to perform a DMU? After 15 minutes everything worked. Verizon fixed it no refurbs, no nada. Hope this helps

Might wanna try reading a little better he is not having a problem connecting to data. He is having a problem with roaming.

The data connection is simple you add a new connection

Name = Anything
Number = #777
UserName = your10digitnumber@vzw3g.com
Password = vzw

Leave domain blank.

Biggest Problem now is I answered a phone call last night and the phone died completely. I Have no power to it and sometimes (sometimes not) when the phone is plugged in it has no power but the red LED will glow...Nex, any idea how to fix that?

Pull the battery for 3 minutes. put the battery back in and plug it in and dont touch if for 15 minutes then pick it up and try to power it on.

2.03_003 is the Sprint Leaked ROM PPST.EXE update of the PRI.

Find the original VZW ROM that includes it's radio/PRI/PRL update.

You may have to flash the ROM, let the customizations run, and then run it's PPST.EXE after it reboots. To get it to update your PRI back.

As far as the PRL, since you can do a *228 option 2, you shouldn't have a problem with it. If it's still the wrong version PRL, download it from the linked site here and reload it using ##775 talk or ##778 talk and go into the PRL part and do an update.

phone won't power at all. When the battery is not in i get a red LED and when the battery is in i get nothing.

plug your phone in to the power outlet.
make sure the battery is in.
go ahead and soft rest. as soon as you hit the button to soft reset the phone should flash the red led once. simultaneously push the soft reset button and pull your power cord out.

mine phone did this but was showing the boot loader screen. it normally does it every time i soft reset.

Didn't work but i will keep trying it. One thing it did do is keep the red LED on with it plugged in.

Ok roam issue fixed... tiermann FTW yet again.. Anyone having the roaming triangle issue add the attached file to windows and run with the parameters

" /Refurbish" minus the quotations.

THIS IS FOR VERIZON ONLY THIS WILL CHANGE YOUR PRI BACK TO 1.37_002

After doing this it maybe required to reflash radio and rom.

That's fantastic. Nex, what are the proper steps to take for VZW at this point. My swap out is waiting for me at home. I want to have the newest ROM with the safest radio upgrade. After this whole thing it has me a bit scared. I thought all of this over the past 5 months had been pretty easy until the 3.39 radio thing. You being the VZW guru I want your opinion.

Bootloader radio then rom is the best method. NEVER AND I REPEAT NEVER LET ANOTHER CARRIERS CUSTOMIZATIONS RUN. ALSO JUST CAUSE SOMETHING WORKS FOR ANOTHER CARRIER DOES NOT MEAN IT WILL NOT HAVE ADVERSE AFFECTS FOR YOU IF YOU ARE WORRIED JUST DONT DO IT UNTILL U TALK TO SOMEONE WHO HAS.

Edit: Also, don't trust someone when they ask you to try running the Sprint PPST.exe even though you have a Verizon vogue :D :D :D

In windows ce how do you get to a run screen or where do you input the /Refurbish command at?

In resco I hit the right softkey and tell it to run and add /Refurbish to the argument line.

The original carrier was sprint (on my spare phone a mogul) and I'm trying to get rid of the roam and preferred network since I'm using it on vzw as a backup to my xv6800. This radio refurbish reset it back to the original carrier (sprint) and I had to manually break the spc again and re-edit all the mip settings. This reverts it back to original carrier not to vzw stock unless it was shipped as a vzw phone.
