phone won't power at all. When the battery is not in i get a red LED and when the battery is in i get nothing.

Call and get a swap... As far as roaming I just did it to my phone so now I will figure out how to fix it.

plug your phone in to the power outlet.
make sure the battery is in.
go ahead and soft rest. as soon as you hit the button to soft reset the phone should flash the red led once. simultaneously push the soft reset button and pull your power cord out.

mine phone did this but was showing the boot loader screen. it normally does it every time i soft reset.

Didn't work but i will keep trying it. One thing it did do is keep the red LED on with it plugged in.

also use your wall charger or car charger not your computer cord

Thats what I am doing. I am going to let the red light sit there for a bit and try it again.
