Re: How to add Voice Commander to 5060 ROM?
You can cook the ROM with it in it. If you upgrade to the new Sprint ROM.It is as easy as checking a box.
If you have a 6700 you can still use the kitchen |

Re: How to add Voice Commander to 5060 ROM?
I've upgraded to the 6800, haven't changed my profile yet...
I know you can put it in a cooked ROM, but my ROMs have been buggy and slow to the point of not being able to answer the phone. No2Chem's clean 5060 ROM runs like a breeze on my phone, and I've been able to reinstall all the things I really wanted (VistaHide battery, GPSViewer, etc.) except Voice Commander. Here's my question - is it possible to recreate No2Chem's 5060 ROM from the kitchen by only selecting the things he mentions that are in the ROM? I love his registry tweaks, text size, date in the title bar, etc., stuff, and want the exact same thing but with VC. Ideas? Thanks, Gerry |

Re: How to add Voice Commander to 5060 ROM?
i used it for awhile, it has more options than the stock Cyberon Voice Speed Dialer, and will read emails to you, supposedly giving you the option to reply to them also. (I never tried that myself) but otherwise, its got a lot smaller footprint memory wise than Microsoft Voice Command, seemed to understand my commands very well. sorry, its been so long since I used it, cant remember everything it did, but I was pretty happy with it.

Re: How to add Voice Commander to 5060 ROM?
I cannot say that this will work exactly in the 5060 ROM since I use the DCD 3.0.4, but it should be close.
First, I downloaded the PPCKitchen OEM zip file. Then I pulled out the two directories for the latest MS Voice Command application and put them in my Kitchen OEM directory. These are, "VoiceCommand" and "VoiceCommand_Lang_0409" NOT "Voice Command 1.6" (This is a slightly older version that I understand has issues) I built my Kitchen and installed the image into my XV6800. There are two Reg hacks that I needed to install after the device booted. [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\OEM\VoiceCommand] "Path"="\\Windows\\voicecmd.exe" [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Bluetooth\Au dioGateway] "BTAGExtModule"="vcbthag.dll" There are other threads on this topic both here at PPCGeeks and XDA-Developers forums. Search for these and you shall be rewarded, I was. I must say, I am VERY happy with the most recent VC and the Reg fixes. |

Re: How to add Voice Commander to 5060 ROM?
WH that's great info and plan to try it the next time I cook, but I think he was asking about Cyberon's Voice CommandER, not Microsoft's Voice Command.

Re: How to add Voice Commander to 5060 ROM?
Hey all - thanks for all the reponses. Actually, I tried Cyberon but just am too addicted to Microsoft VC. Here's my problem - when I try and cook a barebones ROM from the 5060 kitchen, I get something slow and buggy and without all the trendy, nice little fixes in No2Chem's 5060 ROM, such as the date in the taskbar, nice font, skinny scrollbars, etc. So - I suppose my question is, is it possible to build an exact replica of No2Chem's 5060 ROM from the kitchen, or is that not possible?
Thanks, Gerry |
