Re: HOW to turn a Sprint Mogul into an ALLTEL 6800
Install HardSPL 2.40.
Then you can flash the Alltel ROM. Use the GetSPC program to get your MSL code. Then you can use a program called QPST to set the MSL to 000000 (that allows Alltel's OTA programming to work). |

Re: HOW to turn a Sprint Mogul into an ALLTEL 6800
Nothing hard about that, unlike Sprint, Alltel doesn't keep a database of valid ESNs.
They will attempt to activate any ESN for any phone from any carrier. The only hard part about it is when I called to do an ESN change to my Mogul, the person on the other end was in India. This time was strange, because I understood her better than she could understand me. I had to repeat stuff 3+ times. Normally it's the other way around, I usually have to ask them to repeat things. |

Good to know Alltel excepts foreign ESNs. Which companies don't accept them?

I believe Sprint won't accept foreign ESNs.
Verizon used to not accept foreign ESNs either, but I think now they have an "Any App, Any Device" program and will accept Sprint and Alltel ESNs. From what I've read, they have a list of phones from other companies they will accept. I don't know if this program is already effective or not. I don't think Alltel even checks the model. The CSR only asked for the "hex ESN number" without asking the make/model of phone. |

That would be verizon with one. I've heard mixed stuff on Sprints policy.
Vzw currently won't budge for anything! The above instructions may work, but their new open program also won't be out till a least November.
