Samsung WEP500 and Cooked Roms?

Hey guys. I am looking into getting a new bluetooth ear piece for my titan and wanted to ask if anyone on here has any experience with it before I purchased it. The reason I posted it in this forum is because I am really looking for responses from people with cooked ROMs as they are supposed to have superior bluetooth capabilities and compatibilities.

Anyway, so is anyone using the Samsung WEP500 with a cooked Rom? If so, how do you like it and what kind of results do you get from it?

I am really looking at this headset as I am looking for a very small inconspicuous earpice. I had the Jawbone but its just too damn big for me. Prior to that I had the Jabra JX10 and LOVED the size, but the sound quality sucked.

Anyway, thanks for the help guys!

Re: Samsung WEP500 and Cooked Roms?

Hi!

I've had the WEP500 for close to a year or so, and I've used it with SPRINT's stock ROMs, cooked ROMs, my own kitchened from DCDs and PPCKitchen, as well as ROMs from colonel, no2chem, vetvito, nexvision, etc. The most consistent thing I've found is that the WEP500 worked with ALL of them.

With that in mind, the only critical thing I can say about the unit is with its design, per se. You will quickly find out that if you don't learn how to insert the earpiece properly, you will be making a lot of unwanted phone calls. It has to do with the position of the button that activates most of the unit's functions, and the placement of your fingers while grabbing the unit. I will go on to say that once you discover this drawback, it will be fairly simple to teach yourself how to grab the unit without falling into this trap.

Also, I'd like to mention that I an right-handed, and use the unit exclusively in my right ear. This may or may not be an issue for those who are left-handed or "left-eared".

Hope this helps.

Only issue that I have run into is the whole fit in the ear, it was not as good as it's predecessor the WEP 200. Sound quality is superior, range is normal. The other issue I ran into is the main button location and the problem above. When the earpiece falls out of your ear, and it will you instinctively press the button when you resit it inside your ear, thus hanging up your call. As far as voice command and voice dialling works with no hiccups. Just the one small issue, but it was a deal breaker with me and I went back to my old WEP 200
