Re: Unable to answer the phone half the time

Same here. Even worse than the similar problem with my 6700. Made sure no programs were installed to the storage card, made sure Activesync wasn't running, tried the ClearTemp fix, still can't answer the phone. Pretty much defeats the purpose of having a phone!

This is amazing to me - I love this device, and having broadband internet, GPS, my calendar, and my contacts at my side is glorious, but it's so frustrating to never be able to answer a phone call. Anybody have any idea how to fix this?

Thanks so much,

Gerry

Re: Unable to answer the phone half the time

When you say you're unable to answer calls, do you mean, like, the thing is ringing, and you have that notification informing you that you have a call, but you can't press answer? Like it turns white when you press it to signify that you have, but when you release it, nothing happens? This happens to me occasionally, and i believe what happens is that I have actually already missed the call, but my phone does not realize this, and so continues to ring, but can not connect to the call because the person has hung up the phone, or reached voicemail. To avoid this, try changing your slot cycle index in PST under modem, I think. Change it to 1, or 0.

Re: Unable to answer the phone half the time

Ok, I figured it out, at least for me.

That GPRS_bye_if_device_off registry hack that's supposed to help battery life is what was causing me not to be able to answer my phone.

I had ran no2chem 5060 for a few weeks without it happening, then went to DCD 3.0.4 and it didn't happen until last night, I tried that hack. Sure enough, after the reboot, that hack is what did it. I was doing this hack just to test that theory so had a back up. I restored it and now the phone works properly again.

Something to try for those of you having the same issues.

OffUrRcker: My SCI was already set to 1. I tried 0 and 2 just to make sure.

Re: Unable to answer the phone half the time

Can you get past this issue without hard resetting? I also have advance config on my Mogul. Any help would be appreciated.

i have not heard of a way to undo what a version of advanced config after 1.0 does without a hard reset...

Re: Unable to answer the phone half the time

I get this sometimes too. I have S2U2 installed and all the SPB software but i'm otherwise running a stock 3.x ROM.

About half the time i can't hit the answer button. It flashes as if i hit the button but it never picks up. I don't have advanced config installed and i havent done any reg hacks.

Any ideas?

Re: Unable to answer the phone half the time

Running GPSToday by chance? If so, take it off your today screen & test... I had this problem on a related thread. It can be caused by the data connection not releasing (fast enough). With GPSToday, I think it was actually fighting for the connection.

Chappy, can you elaborate a bit more as to which cab you're talking about you having installed that was causing the issue? I have an idea of which one it is, but wanted to make sure I wasn't completely off the mark.

thanks.
