Re: no2chem basekit 5059 using BuldOS disabled storage card
well did u follow the instructions on how to make the selections file? i know i did it exactly how it says and it works for me.... basically you take all the selections from the 5054 selections under SelectedMainSplashImage=320x320,NexVision_welcomeh ead_96.png and paste them in your new 5059 selections file...

I have no idea if the items I set to bold will make a difference or not, but it can't hurt to add them in and try to cook again. Better yet, if you want complete confidance that it will work, try this: http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showpost.p...postcount=3548 |

Re: no2chem basekit 5059 using BuldOS disabled storage card
I didn't mark OEM Application Base because it's marked as depreciated... but it is in the clean selections so maybe it's a good idea to add it..
I went ahead and added what you put in bold and reflashed... now my phone won't boot completely. It gets to where the Main Splash should load and the screen goes blank. I tried pulling out the battery, putting it back in, and hard resetting; but it didn't help. I'm going to see if I can re-flash via SD, but since that was what wasn't working... Edit: Forget my edit, I found my answer... Last edited by dopey; 03-26-2008 at 11:19 PM. |

Re: no2chem basekit 5059 using BuldOS disabled storage card
Well I reset into bootloader mode with the image in the root of a FAT32 SD card and it didn't flash....
But since it was able to get to the bootloader I just plugged in the USB and ran the RUU with the latest official build of the nueROM. PHEW!!! Edit: btw, the storage card does work in the official rom, so it is definitly something I did wrong when creating my rom. I'll just start from scratch and try again... Re: no2chem basekit 5059 using BuldOS disabled storage card
I had a feeling someone was going to say that... As I stated in the first post, I did try to leave the system stuff alone. I was only interested in tweaking it a bit and adding some apps that I want. You did a great job in creating the basekit and I didn't want to mess with it... much...
I was able to build my own rom and everything works now. I'm not sure exactly what I checked this time but didn't the previous time that made it work, but it was most likely what boggsie mentioned. I think the failure was just a bad flash. For some reason past two times before I got it to work the HTC Home Plug would constantly blink and the start menu would only show today and coldinit (I let it do its thing for a good 15 min.). It seems that coldinit froze?? I tried hard reset and such to no avail. What's really odd is the last time I flashed (the time that I got it working) BuildOS actually failed with an error messages saying it was unable to download the rom... Would any of this be a sign that there is actually something wrong with my phone? At any rate it's up and running and fully customized. I love this. In fact I love it so much I donated! Thank you! |

Re: no2chem basekit 5059 using BuldOS disabled storage card
if it jacks up, just do like i said before, go back to his 5054 selections, copy all thta stuff, and paste it into your 5059 selections, then go from there... havent made a bad rom from that method yet

Then, I used the instructions here http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showpost.p...postcount=3548 to build (what I expected to be a duplicate of) 5059 through the kitchen, using all of the default selections, as identified by no2chem. Once I did that, I was able to confidantly move on to more creative attempts ... assured that if I could get back to Olipro 2.4 (Power+Camera+Reset) then I could reinstall either of the *.nbh files that I had previously created ... |
