Re: DCD vs. No2Chem

I actually love both ideas, but i've been working so much on tweaking my dcd roms and kitchen and stuff that I just find it hard to leave his work. I really do like the feel of the ppcgeeks kitchen, but dcd just works for me.

I am really interested in the way that the ppcgeeks kitchen seems to be so modular in that you can simply pop in a basekit (it seems) and just upgrade your kitchen at will.

Seems so bleeding edge and thats why I love that idea.

Talking Re: DCD vs. No2Chem

Maybe we should hold a steel cage death match....

I think since DCD doesn't really have a presence on here anymore(he's on xda for those who live in a cave)that he's not getting his fair share of street cred. NO RISRESPECT TO NO2, but DCD makes some SICK ROMS & he shouldn't be discounted by anyone because he lives mainly on xda & NO2 lives here. I have used both NO2 & DCD & both are great chefs, IMHO, the best 2 around BY FAR. Like other people have said, it basically comes down to what YOU like. I mean it's YOUR phone so make it yours. My advice is to try them both, I mean once you understand how to flash your phone it's no big deal to switch between them until you find what suits you best.

(kitchens aside)

DCD,s roms are the cleanest custom titan roms around. Which does not necessarily mean they are the best per say (for some people they are). They are stripped down to the very core. This is deal for people who want that (der :P).

No2chem's are clean as well, but he offers a lot of extra tools built in.

Both pretty much apply the same kind of performance tweaks and general customization to their base roms. So it comes down to:

Wants some extra tools?
or
Want it as clean as can be?

Other than that, the differences are neglible. Me? I used to flash strictly DCD. But eventually once no2chem created all these awesome tools, I switched over.

So IMO there's really no need to try and analyze them as individuals and base your opinions of them on their reputations or popularity. Just look at the roms and your specific needs and wants. Then choose accordingly. Thats it!

my 2 cents

(keep up the good work no2chem)

Re: DCD vs. No2Chem

Whats the deal with the new ppcgeeks kitchen? You just drop an OEM in or what? I dont get it or how it works. I'm still relatively new to the PPC world and custom roms, etc.

Re: DCD vs. No2Chem

well u take one of the two mentioned creators builds, toss it in the kitchen, open the kitchen up and pick what extras you want add in the rom, then update the phone from the kitchen package... i personally use no2 because before i could make my own custom roms, i would use peoples like Nex, and i wouldnt have a problem with my phone functioning at all....

From what I understand, DCD has implemented custom power management, dialers, etc. What specifically does the Titan Kitchen do that DCD's doesn't?

Can anyone guide me on which one to use and why?
(Stability is a plus!)
Actually depending on what all you include yourself in the kichen, your ROM could be closer to the 20MB free memory, unless of course you want to pack in as much as you can which i think most user end up doing, of course i know i do!!!

correct me if i'm wrong, but isnt there also a DCD Kitchen somewhere @ XDA?

I just wanted to clarify.
I got about 22 mb on boot from a fresh install of no2chem's, I believe they are comparable in that sense. You can make No2Chem's as clean as you like with the Titan kitchen. The only real difference I saw is that DCD is still having some issues with storage card encryption, if that is important to you. Still, no offense to DCD and his accomplishments, but the PPCkitchen does have more built in options. But in all honesty, both DCD and No2Chem are probably the best chefs for the mogul, and you can't really go wrong with either.
