Bootloader Screen weirdness

(this post is getting a little long but I want to cover all the bases)

Someone else had posted this same problem but never posted whether they solved it, and the thread seems to be gone now (if a mod reads this do the old posts get sent to an archive or something now?) Anyways...

Flashed the new stock ROM no problems enjoyed it for a couple days then went off to play with DCD's 3.0.0 flashed it no problem... Then while using it I used SKtools to kill SPBMobile Shell 2.0 oops. The phone froze up on me and I waited a few moments ... nothing ... so after like 2 minutes I hit the soft reset. The phone jumped into the boot loader screen (2.40 olipro.) Thought it was odd so tried a hard reset. Nothing popped back to the tri-color and then quick "no image file screen" and then back to the bootloader.

Having known that with No2Chem's roms theres an issue that you need to take the battery out wait a minute put it back in and hard reset I tried that... nothing... gave it the old college try and waited five minutes with the battery out and still nothing.

Next step I brought it down ran ExitBL and still nothing.

Tried flashing DCD 3.0.0 nothing.

Flashed the stock rom.

Nothing.

I continued trying multiple variations of flashing hard resets removing battery and flashing again with a few exitBLs thrown in for good measure.

And still Nothing.

So I went off to the sprint store (all the while thinking to myself I hope they don't recognize the third party bootloader.) Before I left I took out the battery and put it back in so the phone would be powered off. When I got there I started to explain to the tech what the problem was, as I was doing this I powered on the phone and whaddayaknow it booted right up. I stopped myself half way through a cuss word and made my way out the store. When I got home I tried to flash DCD's rom again and right back to the same problem.

Eventually it loaded back up, I thought that maybe my bootloader had gone bad so I reinstalled 2.40 olipro and had the same problem once more.

Right now my phone is working with the stock rom on it. However, when it chooses to not work, or if I have a similar problem again in the future, anyone know a good fix for this. (edit. aside from the memory card install the phone is taking the rom image just not recognizing it for quite a while for some reason)

I am going to attempt (probably tonight) to relock flash 2.17 and then flash the new rom, as I think it has a new bootloader, and at least get my phone back to all stock in case something internal is wrong and I need to use insurance

But anyways before this gets unnescesarily long... If anyone has any input or has solved a similar problem please let me know the steps you took... Thanks

Re: Bootloader Screen weirdness

Honestly - If you are in the warranty period, I'd say put the stock ROM back on and take it back for a new one..... No need to deal with it if its in warranty......

Re: Bootloader Screen weirdness

im not neccesarily sure its something in the phone, especially if it worked up until the New Stock ROM flash and DCD flash attempt. It might be a program corrupting the bootup process. I think if you go back to 2.17 and start fresh youll be fine, if not i hope you figure it out!!!
