Dslreports mobile speedtest isn't even remotely close to accurate. I got my results by tethering and using an accurate speedtest.

Cody: have you tried out other locations in your area?
Just curious. Maybe for some reason you aren't connecting to you closest tower with Rev. A and when it falls back to Rev. 0 it actually goes to a tower that is farther away?

well i have the touch and did the DSL speed test and here are my results just for ****s and giggles :-p

Could someone explain why using Phone as a Modem allows me to get double the speeds I get when running a test via IE on my phone?

Phone as modem speed increases are described in another thread. IIRC the dl speeds are limited on the phone alone due to CPU or io limitations.

How can you tell if rev A is on? (aside from speed tests) my display just indicates EV

1. The mobile speed test sends a huge page and measures how long it takes to load. The problem is that IE has to allocate enough memory for the page.
e.g. 600k of memory for the 600k test, and 1 MB of memory for the 1 MB test... etc.
This is something that our PPCs are not very efficient at.

2. Speed tests for computers are usually optimized flash or java applets that are designed for fast downloads speeds. They often create more than one connection to the server to increase throughput.
Because the mobile speed test's data is stored within the HTML source itself, pocket IE cannot open another connection to the server to speed up loading.

Chances are if you are not experiencing Rev A speeds and you have confirmed that you are indeed in a Rev A area, you may have skipped the Sprint customizations at some point after installation. I have confirmed that if you don't let the complete ROM install with all of the customizations, your data perameters will not be enhanced to Rev A capability. You can go back afterwards and pick which pieces of software you'd like to uninstall via file explorer. However, I can confirm that if you installed this ROM and then performed an additional hard reset to eliminate the Sprint customizations from installing, your data speeds will not be upgraded to Rev A speeds. I went back and did a hard reset and let everything install and my data/internet speeds are twice as fast as before both mobile internet and tethering. Good luck.

Its waay better than the 382kb I was hitting before but 1MB+ on the phone is crazy.
