Per HTC, cannot flash back to 2.17

I just got off the phone with Sprint tech who conferenced me into a call he was making to HTC Asia. I wanted to reflash back to 2.17 (it was working great) because of 3.35's frequent internet slowdowns and lockups, and because I couldn't listen to music through the adapter anymore.

HTC said that once flashed with 3.35, and the attendant different bootloader, the phone cannot be reflashed to 2.17; he said that the old ROM doesn't exist any more (but it is on my home computer).

I asked him how this can be fixed - he responded, "Can't - get a new phone." I began asking if HTC is planing to replace all the Moguls that have been flashed to 3.35, he quickly changed to "We know of the problem, and hope to have a fix in a few days."

NOT very reassuring; I plan to be at my favorite Sprint store in the morning to get a new phone, and will flash to 3.35 (or whenever 6.1 comes out from HTC) when I've read that the fixes are complete.

OR, does anyone know how to bypass the new bootloader and flash back to 2.17?

You have to use titan Relocker and you can search for that file in here. Then, you should be able to flash back to 2.17. BTW, before you use titan relocker, you should try this:
Press "power"+"camera" and "reset" buttons at the same time. It should pop up SLP screen, then plug in your usb and reflash the rom.

Re: Per HTC, cannot flash back to 2.17

OK, thanks for the confidence. I kinda knew that this would work, and sho'nuff, it's all OK now.

In case anyone needs it, here's the link
ftp://up.ppcgeeks.com/Titan/Users/ImCoKeMaN

How frustrating that this has been out for what, 6-7 months, and HTC and SPrint couldn't advise it. Someone said it before - Sprint should allow PPCGeeks to be the official ROM testers.

So is this "fix" that HTC talking about supposed to fix the music adapter problem that everyone has been having?

Re: Per HTC, cannot flash back to 2.17

Personally, I think that 3.35 is the best ROM that's been made for the Mogul up until its release (including all custom ROMs - I haven't tried a custom since 3.35 came out)... so I don't know why you're having issues. I've been running it stock for two days now with zero issues. But that's cool that you got it flashed.

Did you miss the last part of the first sentence? People are having problems with music playback through the adapter

I can't believe people even bother with the adapter... But yes, I did miss that. I definitely don't have the other two problems mentioned though.

Hi, ER. Yeah, some of us are still old tech; I'm drivin' an old 93 Dodge minivan just about to go over 200,000 miles. I like to listen to internet radio on my drive to work, and without the adapter, I can't listen to it through the car stereo using a cassette adapter. These are my needs, not GPS - I'm pretty good at knowing where I'm going using Windows Live's maps.
