Re: delay in acquiring radio signal after hard reset

Basically, I had this problem on 3.16 and 3.35. After a few soft resets, it started acquiring signal faster and faster. No settings changed. My theory was (and still is) that the radio update removes some kind of cache, and the phone has to relearn the best spots to check for signal, or something. Just be patient, it will get faster and faster, my phone already picks up signal instantly.

Re: delay in acquiring radio signal after hard reset

Just a quick question...how many people here actually DO shut off their phone? Mine runs pretty much 24x7 unless I'm doing a soft reset or a flash and even then, we are only talking about a very short period of time.

I see and understand the "problem" everyone is talking about, but in reality, is it THAT big of a deal?

Re: delay in acquiring radio signal after hard reset

The more you tweak your phone, the more you soft reset to clear RAM ,etc.

I'm not a tweaker, so not a big deal for me. But I'm sure some here reset a lot. ESP with that htchome installed

Re: delay in acquiring radio signal after hard reset

yes, but when your phone freezes and you need to make a call, waiting for 5+ minutes after a soft reset can seem like an eternity.

Whoops. Yeah, I usually do ssi=1 and set all the voice codecs to 13K. Forgot I needed to redo that after flashing the new radio. Thanks for reminding me, phone's back to ringing fast and voice quality back to normal

Amazing what you forget after just a few months....

Re: delay in acquiring radio signal after hard reset

I had this on 3.27, and then again on 3.35, though now it seems to have fixed itself.

I still can't access the internet while roaming. Does anyone else have this problem?
