yeah, i'm using no2chem's rom... i can't get evdo roaming to work

lol, yeah i was using an older rom when i got force evdo only to work...

i can still force roaming only but it won't pick up the evdo signal i could get before

I'm on the phone with Sprint CSR now and she swears that removing the battery and putting it back in after a few minutes forces an HLR reload :scratch:

^nope, I'm pretty sure you need to hang up and call back in. :) Sounds like you drew the short straw on that call.

I"m having the exact same problem.
Forced roaming by doing the following:

start
settings
phone
services
roaming
get settings
select roaming only

and i get the same msg when making a phone call:
"welcome to verizon wireless, we are unable to authenticate your phone"


also, what is "HRL" in case they ask me. what does it stand for when i call tech support?

Not sure what HLR (note, I typed it wrong in the first post, it's HLR, not HRL) stands for, but basically the agent will either know about it or they won't, regardless. I had really good luck when I called in. Spent less than 5 minutes on the phone with the agent (the other 9 minutes was waiting on hold)

go to this page it has different prls. the only way i was able to use alltels evdo was to change my prl to alltels evdo prl. this might work for u guys too.

That worked using the latest Alltel prl. Confirmed. Do you think an older sprint prl would do this as well? (like was in the old roms). This is good that we can do this, would be nice if it would work automatically. Great find none the less!=D>

will using alltel's prl mess up our sprint's signals? :-/
