New rom and gps preping?

Do you still have to prep the gps in the new rom? For example in tom tom i am not picking up a signal. But i though others had said you don't have to do this anymore, but i think i am probably wrong.

Re: New rom and gps preping?

Before the new ROM, and with a "prepper", it would take several minutes to get three or four satellites in my apartment. With the new ROM and also with DCD's 3.0.0 kitchen, WITHOUT a "prepper" I get up to 10 satellites in under 10 seconds.

This goes against what others are saying, but so far it works for me.

Re: New rom and gps preping?

ok so i am on new radio and 5053 no2chem rom and i stil have to prep tomtom.

launched tomtom...waited 5 min, stil no valid gps
launched gpslauncher, went to sat view and already had 8 sats... watched for 5 min and closed tomtom..
imediatly launched just tomtom... waited 5 min, still no valid gps.

repeated 3 times with same results. if i use gpslauncher it finds the sats in under 5 seconds. without it, never finds the gps.

Same boat on DCD 3.0.0, I wonder if the people claiming no preping are people not testing with tomtom, but testing with googlemaps and stuff LOL

Re: New rom and gps preping?

I too have to prep before using TomTom. I am using the 3.35 ROM and have noticed that sats are found within 10 seconds compared to a few minutes with prior ROMs, custom or 3.16.
