RECEIVING PictureMail on 3.35 ROM

After the upgrade to 3.35, I'm noticing that when I receive PictureMail, I see the full Sprint PictureMail site instead of the PIE optimized display of the picture message. I'm thinking the User Agent string in PIE changed and Sprint's web server is understanding the new one to be full IE. The UA I get from 3.35 is:

Code:
Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 6.0; Windows CE; IEMobile 7.6) Sprint: PPC6800
Does anyone know what the UA was from PIE, pre 3.35? I don't want to downgrade and then upgrade again just to get it. If you haven't upgraded yet, you can hit http://www.useragentstring.com to find out what the string is.

No. The full site uses jscript that PIE can't parse. You can't open the picture you get sent at all.

http://pictures.sprintpcs.com/pda/ still works on my phone. You just gotta log in with your phone number and sprint password. Everything fits perfectly into a small space, perfect with PIE!

Re: RECEIVING PictureMail on 3.35 ROM

I know on custom ROMS there was a hack that fixed this. I figured that it would be fixed on the stock ROM but like others it isn't. So I applied the hack and it works perfectly. Got it off XDA a while back ago, not sure who made it.

Re: RECEIVING PictureMail on 3.35 ROM

I just posted about this earlier today.

As far as going to pictures.sprintpcs.com/pda, it works - but you can't open the Inbox.

The file I posted above lets you enlarge the picture and download it to your phone.

Re: RECEIVING PictureMail on 3.35 ROM

Worked like a charm, thanks kennyidaho!

It takes the IEMobile version in the UA string down from 7.6 to 6.12, which solved the problem!

As a text message containing a URL link back to the Sprint Pictures site. We're not actually receiving true MMS, which is probably what you're wondering.
