tada

i am pretty sure the soda that just shot out of my mouth and onto my desktop has i laughed uncontrollably at this excellent post, has ruined my mouse. off to the store. lol. very funny though.

LoL...
it worked great for me... I wanted to be sure there was no way for them to tell...

by the way for those who do use this method to kill their phone for return,,
when you hook it up to the battery or power supply to kill the usb connection,, make sure you only tap the wires real quick,, do not touch them together for more than just a quick tap.. listen for a pop to come from the phone,, this is the diode popping,,if you dont hear it,, try switching wires... the reason you only want to tap,, is if you touch them too long,, you can overheat/burn the etching on the mainboard and this will deffinitely throw up a red flag...

after your done with this before you put it in the microwave make sure and plug in your phone to your charger and see if the light doesnt come on,, this will ensure you killed the connection path..

now brick away,,, lol

Re: Let the Flaming Begin!! But It is bad.

I would like to make note of my experience with trying to brick an old mogul i had laying around. I figured i would try just throwing the phone in the microwave to see if what people are saying is true about being able to brick it. There are a few red flags that come to light after doing this...

First - The smell... mmmmm, the smell of burning components. Very unmistakable and very easy to pick up on.

Second - The camera flash pops. Another sign that the phone was just thrown in a microwave to be replaced.

Third - Ripples on the screen. Putting the phone in the microwave for a longer time than 3 seconds will make ripples on the screen from it tightening.

Fourth - IT DIDN'T BRICK THE PHONE!!!! The phone is still working somehow but it destroyed the flash. I put the thing in there for 10 seconds but it still didn't kill the eeprom. I am not sure if i just have a hardcore phone or what the deal is but this thing doesn't break!!!! It only left me with a phone that smells bad and can't use a camera flash.

Just wanted to put in my tests for other people to see, this definitely is NOT the way to go.

Re: Let the Flaming Begin!! But It is bad.

You said I have tried the sd card method.. and yes i did name it TITAIMG.nbh
What size card are you using?
NOTE: It must be 2 GB or smaller.

I, myself, found this out the "stupid" way after "upgrading" to a nice big spacious 8 Gb card. I installed the TITAIMG.nbh on the root of the drive and kept scratching my head , wondering why it simply would not load.

Hopefully this all that is standing in the way for you too .

If this helps, please click the "Thanks" button. Since I have been "Thanked" zero times, I desperately need all the "Thanks" I can get (LOL).

OK, that was embarrassing?!
Next time, I will look at the date of the original post (instead of the latest response).
