Using SDConfig.txt to copy files using UC???

I have all of my applications installing perfectly from my SD card when I flash a UC compatible ROM like No2Chem's.

I'm trying to figure out how or what I type in the SDConfig.txt that will also tell it to copy files like .tsk's and .mp3's for ringers from my SD card to specific directories like the Windows and the Windows/Rings folders on the device?

Can anyone help me out with how to do that?

Thanks!!!!

Alex

Re: Using SDConfig.txt to copy files using UC???

Some people have gotten CPY1 and CPY2 to work correctly The syntax is as follows:

CPY1: <source file to copy>
CPY2: <destination to copy to>

CPY2: must immediately follow CPY1:

Example:

CPY1:\Storage Card\MyFile.ext
CPY2:\My Documents\MyFile.ext

Re: Using SDConfig.txt to copy files using UC???

Can the CPY1 CPY2 be run multiple times?
example:
CPY1:\Storage Card\My Documents\transformOpen.wav
CPY2:\Windows\transformOpen.wav
CPY1:\Storage Card\My Documents\transformClose.wav
CPY2:\Windows\transformClose.wav

etc. etc...

I have UC working as far as installing .cab files and this would interest me greatly. The registry stuff like .xml is still beyond me but this would certainly help simplify a re-flash

Re: Using SDConfig.txt to copy files using UC???

I'm trying it right now, I'm flashing No2Chem's 5052 as I type this and I have it set to copy a tsk file and about 10 ringers.

I'll report back in a few...

EDIT: It works perfectly!!! Multiple files too!!!! Yay!

EDIT 2: Here is EXACTLY every bit of what is in my SDConfig.txt file so everyone knows the correct formatting:

Re: Using SDConfig.txt to copy files using UC???

OK, I've got it working 100%!!!! man this was the most trying thing to learn on the fly... i had to hard reset at least 20... no 50 times because each time you get the syntax wrong on just one item it locks the phone during customization!!! I learned alot in this process tho and now that i have it perfect, i'll only need to make minor adjustments as new apps come along that i want to include. i even got the xml's to work... i feel like i just ran a marathon and won... i maybe got 2 hours of sleep last night from messing with this.

I'll post my exact sdconfig.txt later for you guys to look over.

Re: Using SDConfig.txt to copy files using UC???

What about copying entire directories? Has anyone tried that?

For example, the WeatherPanel PhatPhinger themes? There are tons of individual files in there and if would be great if it could just copy the entire folder. There might be problems because the target directory does not exist?

I never was able to get it to work and gave up. It keep saying that the folder was not found but it was pointing to the source folder, which was there and named right.

you may just need to tweak your syntax... or create an xml file to handle creating and copying a full directory. i saw a post about it.. but i havent given it a shot yet.

here: this give instructions on how to create and move directories...
