Re: XV6800 official ROM Update? any rumors?
DCD has a release of radio that works on xv6800.. errr... well.. it flashes and boots but there are lots of other problems associated with current releases of OS... I would suspect DCD will fix these within the next few days with a future one of his releases...
All problems aside ... the new radio seems to perform like absolute dung on Verizon network... from my experience at least.

Re: XV6800 official ROM Update? any rumors?
No need to wait. I flashed the new Sprint rom onto my xv6800. This updated the radio and the ROM. Then I flashed No2Chem's rom (5052), hard reset, and installed my apps. I would suggest using 5051 instead since 5052 has a few minor issues (bluetooth) that are still being worked out. 5051 worked great for me.
I don't use a data plan, but I believe you just need to dial *228 to program your phone. |

Re: XV6800 official ROM Update? any rumors?
I've flashed my XV6800 with Sprint ROMs (custom ones), and only have had to change the dialers' name, and the startup screen. There really isn't any difference in either carriers' ROM's I don't believe.
In this case.. I'd bet the differences are very superficial.

Re: XV6800 official ROM Update? any rumors?
A few of us have messed with flashing the new radio or even entire sprint rom and then installing a DCD VZW rom.
Everything seems to work fine until you receive an incoming call and the ringer won't make a sound. Then I've also heard sound is broke for other apps. I'm sure DCD will have an update soon, he said there's no Red Wings games tonight to take up his time. Hopefully it's not a major bug. I've heard of a lot of problems loading just the new radio rom. It loads to 9% and then fails. I've seen this problem for a while since I put 3.27 on my 6800 so it's related to the installed 2.37 radio somehow and not the new radio. I was able to install the entire new Sprint rom and radio without encountering this problem however. |

I can't comment on wireless sync as I don't use verizon's broadband. Correct me if I'm wrong, but doesn't *228 set up your data connection? |
